About Ahmed Akkad
Ahmed Akkad is a man obsessed. Obsessed with beauty, obsessed with style and obsessed with bringing the very best to his clients. A designer, living and working in New York, his over 25 years of design span fashion, jewelry, fabric, home accessories, furniture, interiors and decorative objects.
Ahmed designed three men's and women's collection under his own labels for over 12 years. He has also served as creative director for several European collections. He has designed furniture and interiors, as well as the Starr Hotel in Amsterdam. He was a creative collaborator with several European fabric mills. Currently, Akkad designs the AKKAD Jewellery line, an Italian handbag collection, a British apparel line and his Fine Jewellery collection. His work has been covered in numerous global publications including Vogue, Italian Vogue, Vogue Homme, Collezioni, W, O Oprah, Essence, Latina, Vibe, Rolling Stone, Jones, Brides, Details and Arena.
His work is inspired by his diverse experiences and draws upon the glamour of bygone eras: Hollywood in the 30's, Capri and St. Tropez in the 60's, and New York in the 70's and 80's.
