A bit disappointed. LUV the set of mini lanterns better (they were better designed, had stronger construction & brighter lights). These were more flimsy, poorly constucted (top not sitting evenly & other edge rougher) & the lights not as bright. We almost sent them back but are keeping them as extras during a power failure. Could find better elsewhere.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great looking lights!
from London, ON.
I'm very pleased with these lights. The throw off good light yet can be dimmed to a soft glow. I use them on my balcony and have had many compliments on them. Even if the hydo goes out there's plenty of light to go by. Very pleased that I bought them.

You two light up my life
from Mississauga, Ontario
Before I even took them out of the package, I could see the lantern through the box and I fell in love with them right away. They were so gorgeous and appealing. The light they emit is just perfect for my balcony. No other light is needed. I can put them on the table or han them on a hook at each end of the balcony. When the power goes out, they sure come in handy.
Olde Brooklyn Lanterns
from Fort Macleod, Alberta
We received these 2 lanterns and they are just adorable. We haven't had a chance to use them outside as yet, but have put the batteries in them. I can't get over how much light they throw. Looking forward to trying them this long weekend.
I do not go camping but I do have two happy puppies that sweep everything off tables with their wagging tails. I love the fact that we can use these outside and do not have to worry about wind or tails knocking them over and causing a hazzard. Anything that does not have a real flame is good and they look quite pretty too.

Loved the antique look and colour and the ability to adjust brightness. A bit put off by the fact that one of the lanterns' top was obviously at an angle. Also while I appreciate that there are some perks to the flimsy weight.. ie hanging in a tent... I myself would have preferred to get only one at that price and have it more substantial. Even with the added weight of the batteries it was a no-go for me. Would love it if the company would come back with another design.

I ordered my first set of these as a gift for my brother's backyard, but my mother liked them so much she wanted a set too! Beautiful style, truly reminiscent of yesteryear - and very well made. The light from these is wonderful, and very adjustable - you can create ambience, or a great working space depending on where you set your light level. This is a great item, that I think would be wonderful in a wider selection of finishes including a copper finish and oil rubbed bronze - maybe something TSC can look into?

These are quite nice in appearance. They do look antique. It isn't until you pick it up that you realize that it is not made from a heavy metal. It is actually quite lightweight, which is good if you have them hanging in a tent or under a canvas. We have had a lot of nice compliments on the lanterns and it isn't until someone actually picks one up that we get a slightly different reaction of, "Oh, they are plastic" (even though they apparently are not).

Very Surprised with these Lanterns!
from Calgary, Alberta
I was most skeptical when I ordered two sets of these Lanterns for friends that each have cabins and trailers. I thought, "well with this price it's going to be cheesy and not really worth it", but something was telling me from the pitch on live T.V. that these were something extra special.I received both sets in the mail as I wanted to test them out first, before I gave these to my friends. Well, let me tell you that I was more than plesantly surprised when I put in the batteries. (These do not come with batteries so you have to buy 2 D batteries). First of all I was so impressed that the glass never, ever heats up. There is no Kerisene or oil to deal with and there are 12 LED's in the Lantern's! I actually took them into a dark room and experimented with them and these really put out alot of light! There is a switch on the front that controls the amount of light you want and you can have as little light as you want or as high as you want. This is ideal for campers that have to use the "loo" in the middle of the night and can control the light. You don't have to worry about burning anything down and you can use them in your RV because they use no butaine or oil. You actually can have these going all night if you have small children and are afraid of the dark. They can have one each and they will be comfortable and not be afraid of the "Big Bad Wolf!"I can't tell you how impressed I am with these and so are my two friends that received them as gifts. It certainly is worth the small price you pay in shipping and handling. Please try them out. You can't go wrong and you have no fear of fire or over heating.I hope this was helpful for all you campers out there!Have a wonderful, safe, camping season!
