Victorious over all that hair
By Tammy L.
from LaSalle (Québec)
I received my Bob on Thursday... I let him charge up and put him to work on Friday evening! He does an excellent job on my tile and concrete floors including cleaning all the dog hair! I have 2 cavalier kcs and 1 corgi and Bob has forever changed my life with his ability to sweep for me! At first the dogs were afraid of him but this morning they were just looking at him like ...oh, it is you again! I have had one problem though and that is when the charge finishes it spends almost 20 minutes to find the home base and sometimes it falls asleep before reaching home. I could follow him around and convince him to move towards the base but what if I am not home? I came home yesterday and my 8 months old cavalier was literally taking a nap on top of Bob. Maybe I am being too hard on Bob but I wish he could find his home spot every single time... I have located it comfortably in the guest bedroom.. well I guess it is technically Bob's room now.

i wanted a robotic vacum for a long time , but found them too expensive......when i saw the bobsweep with it's cheaper pricing , i just had to try it. i wasn't setting my expectations too high and set it free to do it's thing. i was really surprised to see how much it picked up in the first sweeping that i allowed it to do. i have not learned how to set it to clean on certain days on its own and i haven't used the mopping feature, but i'm sure i will like it. i find that it's not overly noisy and even though it goes all over the place with what seems to be no agenda, it gets the job done. it does get stuck now and then, but i don't expect miracles.... i really like it.

Important Information before Purchase
By Happy Days
from Nowhere Land
Important Safety Instructions (from the BobSweep Manual) BobSweep is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless under the supervision of a person responsible for their safety. TSC may I suggest that this type of information is important in making a purchasing decision and should be in the description of the product. Note: The Bobsweep requires triple A batteries for the remote control and are not included.I unpacked Bobsweep and docked it for the 12 hour recommended recharge. I then chose the option to clean until it needed to recharge. In 45 min. Bobsweep made 3 passes of my house 1200 sq.ft. For dust allergy suffers the hepa filter is great. The amount of dirt, dust, hair etc. the machine picked up was impressive. The Dustbin however has nooks and crannies so it is not just a dump the dust process. The way to clear hair dirt etc from the dustbin is by dry brush only so the dust allergy suffers are impacted. Unfortunately Bobsweep in the 45 min run fell off the ramp at the front door twice, (2 inch drop) each time shutting down and beeping for help. It then went under a large arm chair and when it couldn't get out the back end it stopped again and beeped for rescue. By this time I was getting fed up with Bobsweep. It then continued off around the house for its 3rd tour (this time the ramp was blocked off to avoid another dump off the side)I have hardwood floors with four small area rugs, one rug has a plushier pile than the others Bobsweep treated it like a baseboard and did not clean it. The machine stopped in the middle of the floor with no obstacles in its way and beeped for a rescue. An error code was flashing. I had had enough of picking Bobsweep up so I reset it and pushed docking. Bobsweep headed to the docking station ran into it repeatedly but did not dock then turned and ran into the wall several time, stopped and beeped for a rescue. I repeated the shutdown, and docking and the machine behaved the same way. I decided it was time to shut Bobsweep down for good and send him packing back to TSC. The concept is a good one, the cleaning capability of this little machine was impressive (don't expect one pass to do the job it took 3 which is not unreasonable given the size of the Bobsweep and the cleaning result was good). However to have the sensors fail and dump Bobsweep over on its side, to be unable to turn under a large chair and exit, the error code in an open clear space and the docking problems all in the space of its first 45 minutes was not impressive. I did not have the triple A batteries so can not comment on the remote control.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Only great for hard floors!
I was super excited to see a robotic vacuum on TSC. I have a lab with very fine, floaty hair...tying a broom to his behind to follow him around 24/7 was not an option. This seemed like the perfect solution to give me a bit of free time. I ordered it with limited expectations, knowing that for sure it would not be able to clean our bedrooms with the thicker, plush carpet. I was shocked to see bOb force it's way over the floor divider and into my daughters room. It zoomed around In there for a good minute before finally giving me an error ( I was expecting this from the start). The next thing that both shocked and disappointed me was its performance on a cheap area rug. It is basically as thin as they come, but bOb would not even barely attempt to "climb" it. I helped him up there a couple times, but immediately got an error message. That was the deal breaker for me...after seeing the work it put into getting into the bedrooms, then see it bounce off of a thin area rug like a pinball machine...heartbreaking! However!!!! It did an amazing job on the hard floors, found stuff I didn't even know I had missed.

Clever Little Guy
Although I could not deny my Bobsweep was very aesthetically pleasing when I first opened the box, I was skeptical of his claimed abilities. I could not wait to find out! He unpacked and fit very neat and tidy in the corner of my living room. I could see I was going to appreciate not having to get my old upright out with its annoying cord. When put to the test, my Bobsweep worked very well on my hard surface floors both sweeping AND mopping. I think I was most impressed (and a bit embarrassed) when I brought him to my mothers to show him off as a novelty at Christmas. I set him to work on her living room carpet. I had no carpet at my home so I was curious to see how he would do. As he cleverly scouted out the dimensions of the room, my mother commented that it would probably not collect much because she had vacuumed the room with her central vac the day before. After about ten minutes, my brother-in-law decided to see if there was anything in the tray. Much to my mothers horror he then proceeded to walk around and show everyone how much was in the tray. I will say that as much as I like my Bobseep...my mother does not feel the same way.The Bobsweep is fun to watch but when the honeymoon phase wears off, you just program him to do his work when you are not home. The list of things I love about my Bobsweep goes on and on.I am very happy with the addition of Bobsweep to my home!Shane CToronto, Ontario
