Purchased this unit feb 2012 and it worked perfect for about a year, then started to get flakey. Finally recently it quit totally and said there was no memory left. I used the (awful) forums on clickfree.com and was able to find out exactly how these units work and I was backing up too frequently. This unit literally backs everything up on your computer so it you use the internet a lot then the temporary files get backed up all the time as well, this way your click free can be filled quite quickly. One should not back up daily without deleting temp files first. I just had a tech from there go through the process and my unit is backing up like it was brand new once again. I would in fact buy another one now that I know how to work it if this one quit.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Ugh, do not buy...... Avoid
This unit requires Microsoft .Net 4.0 Frameworks to be installed on your XP or Win 7 computer, a well known notorious installation nightmare, it took hours just to get .net installed and working. The backup software was written by a fifth grader, poorly done, full of flawes..... Avoid

Clickfree 1 TG C^ Backup for Harddrive

This is the second one I have purchased. It is so easy to use- just plug it in and forget it.had my computer hacked and fortunately I had everything backed up or I would have lost precious photos, not to mention other important information.Barbara C

Good backup device

I bought this unit because of the larger capacity and have used it only to backup my computers - desktop and laptop. Works good although I haven't had to restore or do anything more yet. Glad to know I have system backup. This replaces my prior Clickfree smaller capacity unit which is still working after several successful years that I have passed along to my brother for his computers.

NOT FOR MAC

I have used Clickfree CN, C6 500GB, C6 750GB and this C6 1T. I would not own a computer without using a Clickfree. The only issue is that even though the package says that it is for a MAC, it is not! I bought it for my Mac. When it didn't work I emailed Clickfree who told me it was an error on the package, and they were going to clear it up. And that The Shopping Channel was going by the misprint on the package.

Bought the C6 as showstopper. Was excited to try it out, but quickly found out that it was not working. Wasted a couple of days trying to figure it out, no instructions provided and it did not work as shown on TV. Tried again a week later, and thought it worked. Then went to restore by computer after it crashed and the C6 did not work. Was not able to restore anything. Called Clickfree customer service, which was a nightmare. They were not helpful at all. Called TSC customer service, and was told they would look into it. Then got call from Clickfree customer service, only because TSC called them, and they sent me another one. Said it was new. Recieved an old scratched up,used one. Another troublesome defective unit.Did some research on the product and found out that there are allot of people who were experiencing the same problem, and they too were not helped by Clickfree customer service. Waste of my time, energy and money. Very disappointing experience.

I have a Clickfree CN 500GB, Clickfree C6 500GB & 750GB. And the C6 has restored completely, two computers that crashed. I would not be without one and bought several for others as gifts. I have backed up Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 over the years. I just bought this new Clickfree 1T because it was said, on the program, that it backs up a Mac. I watched the program several times and taped it, to be sure that I heard right. When I got it, on the back of the package was written *SUPPORTS* Mac 10.5+ with Intel processor. I have Mac 10.8.3 with Intel processor so I was surprised when it didn't work on my Mac. No start up loading page, NOTHING. I would still recommend it for any Windows, the price is excellent, and it is very easy to use. I do suggest writing down your password, or not using one, because if you forget it(which I did) it will erase ALL your back ups, for you to access the Clickfree again. Which means you have to back up the computers again, very time consuming.
Worked well at first
We bought a C6 Clickfree unit about a year ago, slightly less memory than the 1TB. It has largely worked well until a few weeks ago. There was a software update by Clickfree that we believe corrupted the device - my husband is in the IT field and this is an educated guess. Since then we have spent a few weeks emailing back and forth with the support staff. They have responded but have asked the same questions over and over and we've given the same answers over and over. We have followed their directions to the letter and the device still does not work now. We have since been advised we can have the unit replaced and in theory that is fine. However, we have important data on that device and in order to get the replacement, we must send the device back. Well since we don't know if it is a) ever recoverable and b) if it is then who will be seeing it, we are now concerned about what to do.We are really disappointed as this had otherwise worked well. Clearly some work needs to be done by Clickfree to ensure their updates don't cause these issues. Buyer beware.

Great Simple Backup
I purchased the 500GB model a year ago and loved it. I bought a new computer with Windows 8 and had to wait until January until they released the Win 8 software. Once they did it was simple to move all of my data and program files over to the new computer. I have more computers now so purchased the 1T model and it works perfectly. So easy and I love that you can boot from your C6 if you have a problem with your computer. I had to deal with their customer support and had an issue quickly and easily solved using their live chat. Great product.
