One cent coins were first produced in Canada in 1858, and continued to be produced for 154 years until they were officially discontinued on May 4, 2012. To mark the passing of this long tradition, the Royal Canadian Mint has produced Canada's first half ounce pure silver penny coin. This proof finish coin features the classic cent design used from 1937 to 2012, together with selective pink gold plating on the leaves.
• Mintage is limited to 30,000 coins
• As a pure silver coin, this item is GST/HST exempt
Includes:
• 2012 Proof 1/2 Ounce Fine Silver Penny, with Selective Pink Gold Plating
Included with your purchase is a bonus DVD - Behind the Scenes at the Royal Canadian Mint
