Complete Prestige Proof Set 1988-1997 (10 Prestige Proof Sets)

In 1971, the Royal Canadian Mint introduced the first double struck proof sets generally available to collectors. These are the absolute best quality coins and presentations produced by the Mint. These coins have greater depth and definition than regular coins, including white cameo designs set against a perfect mirror background field.

The coins from each year from 1988 to 1997 are presented in this collection in the original black leather cases of issue. The sets include all of the coins from the cent to the loon dollar, plus a special commemorative silver dollar. The 1997 set also includes a two dollar coin. The commemorative silver dollars depict important events and anniversaries in Canadian history. Unlike the earlier years, the 1996 and 1997 sets include coins from the nickel to the dollar struck in sterling silver. The 1997 two dollar coin is struck in sterling silver with a gold plated centre core.
