Connemara Marble
Unique to western Ireland, Connemara marble has existed for over 900 million years. Rare and resilient, it perfectly captures the Irish landscape's "forty shades of green". With gradient colours from light to dark, the marble gets its unique, varied green colour from the mineral serpentine. Connemara marble can be found in some of the world's most magnificent attractions, such as the Victoria and Kensington Palaces.

For three generations, the Walsh family in Dublin has taken great pride in the fine Connemara marble treasures they produce. This family-run business (est. 1946) offers a wide selection of high quality marble pieces that are created by top designers and can be found in leading stores throughout the world. They get their marble from their own quarry in Lissoughter, which opened in the 19th century. The quarry is legendary as it is the oldest marble quarry and was visited by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1903 during the royal tour of Connemara. As each piece of marble is lifted from the quarry, its own distinctive colouring can be seen. From here, it is sent to Dublin for crafting and polishing to create a treasure that is truly one of kind.

Capture a piece of this rich history for yourself and discover the high quality craftsmanship and natural beauty of Connemara marble today.
