Tina Aldatz is the Founder of Foot Petals, the brand that offers fashionable solution-oriented products for women who have a love/hate relationship with their shoes. Tina has used her savvy business acumen, Latina background, and entrepreneurial drive to build a brand that has become a staple in the footwear industry and valued by women worldwide.
As a child growing up in California, Tina burnt the soles of her feet after walking over hot coals buried in the sand at the beach. The simple act of walking in sneakers or flats was painful and her feet were sensitive and never quite the same. Little did she know this traumatic event would inspire a multi-million dollar business idea later in life.
Tina moved to New York to pursue a dream of working in the fashion industry. After long days wearing and walking in painful shoes, Tina realized she wasn’t the only woman suffering in her flats and heels
In 2001, she decided to tackle this problem herself. Tina researched materials extensively and sought out the best possible products to create a cushion that was fashionable and effective. Tina designed her first product, Tip Toes, still the number one selling product today. With the sales help of her best friend, Margie Floris, the two revolutionize the footwear industry by providing shoe departments with practical solutions for their consumers on the spot. Margie is currently the Vice President of Foot Petals.
With Tina’s savvy business acumen, Foot Petals took off. Tina became a Certified Pedorthist-a trained individual who has the knowledge and experience to design, make and fit footwear and orthotics to relieve painful and disabling conditions of the feet. The medical community has embraced the Foot Petals’ product with the cushions receiving the American Podiatric Medical Association’s Seal of Acceptance, recommendations from top Podiatrists, and “The Doctors” television program. Forbes magazine recognized Tina as an entrepreneur to watch in 2008 and Allure Magazine awarded the Tip Toes cushions the Best of Beauty seal, among many other recognitions. Foot Petals is also backed by their loyal, fan-based customers, fashion editors, celebrities and stylists like Patricia Fields and Rachel Zoe.
In January 2011, after a decade of being in business, Foot Petals was acquired by RG Barry. Tina currently lives in Huntington Beach, California.
