definitely a keeper!
I have used this pot several ways now; very convenient and cleans up like a breeze! Just don't turn your heat setting too high, as you can burn your food quite easily. Bought this to use as a steamer. Discovered that I can quite easily steam and cook something underneath all at the same time! I will not give up this versatile pot; the uses are endless! You will not be sorry you bought it!!!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

impressed by the chef!
I so enjoyed watching the chef on TSC, but truly the magnetic plug is a problem especially if you are cooking chicken, you don't want to mess with that. I am afraid that the Teflon will eventually scratch and I always question why is Teflon still being used. It's a good size pan and is very appealing to the eye. I am not sure you would need all the gadgets that come along with it. You have to wonder if you need another electric pan or can you do the job on your stovetop?.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Culinart Distinction 8-in-1 Multi cooker

certainly like the size - but like others, not happy with the magnetic plug.

Magnetic cord detaches
I had difficulties connecting the magnetic cord and when I finally hooked it up it wouldn't stay on. I had to transfer my food from this cooker to an older crockpot to cook. This would be a nice cooker if they replaced the magnetic connector with a normal one. I'm returning it.
8 in 1 multi-cooker

Post office sent the parcel notice to the wrong mail box so never got to pick it up till Dec.20. Then had to work the weekend and got storm stayed in town. I have not used it yet but plan to this weekend. Looks great and loved the video on using it so much. Love that I can brown the meat and then cook the chilli all in the same dish.

Absolutely not a slow cooker
I gave this a 3 star because the lid is not tight so not good for real slow cooking. For frying, boiling, sauté it keeps the temperature steady which I like. The finish inside the cooker is of quality. When washing though to remove the smell of food from the lid you have to remove the rubber surrounding it to get it really clean and then try to wipe dry which is not easy. A bit annoying to have to do this after every use!
I absolutely love this multi-cooker. I use it almost every night and it has practically replaced my oven! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the magnetic plug - if you move the cooker it can easily get unplugged so you have to be a little careful.
Exceeded my expectation

I tried several recipes for slow cooker, dutch oven and skillet. All came out perfectly and there was very little clean up. I love this machine.Christine.

very expensive and just average it is totally useless as a "shallow fryer"
