Par ailleurs, ce bracelet d’excellente qualité comporte un fermoir à tige avec dispositif de sécurité pour que vous n’ayez jamais à craindre de le perdre en le portant.

The Four Cs of Diamonds

There are four main factors that affect the value of a diamond, commonly referred to as “the 4 Cs.” The cut, colour, clarity and carat weight all contribute to the rarity, and therefore price, of a diamond.

CUT:
The cut is a diamond's most important characteristic. The way a diamond is cut affects how it handles light and has great influence on the diamond's overall sparkle. The closer to ideal proportions that a diamond is cut, the more light will reflect back to the eye, resulting in the fire and brilliance that make diamonds so beautiful and so popular. Shallow or deep cuts allow light to seep out of the bottom or escape out of the side.

COLOUR:
Diamonds with absolutely no colour are extremely rare. Colour actually refers to a diamond's lack of colour with D being perfectly colourless. The subtle differences in colour among most gem-quality diamonds are due to traces of other elements that were present during the diamond’s formation millions of years ago. Diamonds are rated on a letter scale indicating the degree of yellowish tinge from D all the way to Z, which is markedly yellowy. E and F are colourless to the naked eye, and G, H and I will appear very nearly colourless, particularly in a gold setting. After cut, colour is generally considered the second most important characteristic when selecting a diamond.

While the fire of perfectly colourless diamonds will never go out of style, modern jewellers and jewellery lovers have discovered the incredible beauty of coloured diamonds in gorgeous shades of blue, green, pink, chocolate and even black, and may people prize yellow (or "canary") diamonds for their luminous colour.

CLARITY:
Diamonds usually contain "inclusions", which are small markers of how the diamond formed deep within the earth. Very few diamonds are without inclusions, and such stones are termed "flawless." Inclusions do not necessarily affect beauty, but they do affect value. Many imperfections are microscopic and those with the least and smallest imperfections receive the highest clarity grades.

Diamond Clarity

FL, IF Flawless, Internally Flawless: No internal or external inclusions visible under 10X magnification to a trained eye. The most expensive grade. Very rare.
VVS1, VVS2 Very, Very Slightly Included: Inclusions visible only to a trained eye under 10X magnification. Excellent quality.
VS1, VS2 Very Slightly Included: Small inclusions visible with 10X magnification. Not typically visible to the unaided eye.
SI1, SI2 Slightly Included: Varying degrees of small inclusions visible with 10X magnification. A good value.
I1, I2, I3 Included: Flaws may be visible to the naked eye in larger stones.

CARAT WEIGHT:

Carat weight is the term that people are most familiar with. Carat is a measure of the diamond's weight and may not reflect its size. To understand its size, you need to consider the distance across the top of the diamond measured in millimetres and the cut grade. One carat equals 1/5 of a gram, or 1/142 of an ounce. Each carat is divided into 100 points, so a 3/4 carat diamond can also be said to weigh 75 points or .75 carat. As the weight increases, the rarity increases dramatically… and so does its value.
About Zambian Emeralds
While Colombian and Brazilian emeralds are much sought-after, Zambian emeralds have captured a large portion of the emerald market in recent years because of their fabulously rich, deep uniform colour. Zambian emeralds have relatively few of the inclusions common to the emerald, and are also less porous and brittle than other varieties. These emeralds retain their magnificent hues even in small stones that are less than 0.5 carats, for maximum appeal no matter what their size.

About Emeralds
Regarded as a holy gemstone among the Incas and Aztecs of South America, emeralds have a fascinating history. Said to promise good luck and enhance well being, these popular gems are proudly displayed in jewellery pieces and religious icons alike. One of the world's largest emeralds is the "Mogul Emerald". Dating back to 1695 and weighing a hefty 217.80 carats, this gorgeous stone is inscribed with prayer texts and engraved with floral ornaments. A legend in its own right, this gemstone was auctioned by Christie's of London to an unidentified buyer for 2.2m US dollars on September 28, 2001.

A unique gemstone due to its luminosity, the emerald is still of a high value even with inclusions. The value lies in the bright colour of the stone. A rich, deep green emerald is worth more with inclusions than a flawless emerald whose colour is paler. Interestingly enough, specialists call the stones with many inclusions, cracks and fissures "jardin" after the French for "garden."

was dissapointed when I opened the box, nothing that jumped out and said look at me!!!. diamonds so small you can't find them,so it is ok for wearing causualy. the clasp was fine, didn't have a problem with it, going to keep it because I have a lot of green clothes, just hope that when I wear it in about 3 1/2 weeks that it doesn't break like others have stated, my return time will be up, I think when so called fine jewellery breaks in such a short time tsc should at least offer to replace it or fix it.

very disappointed

Par Rick

on april 24th I ordered this braclet, was a little disappointed on the size of the diamonds, the worse is that today, june 8th , the braclet fell apart, a week after I could have sent it back for a refund.
I have bought jewellery from The Shopping Chanel for years, in the beginning the workmanship was very god, I have many rings that I have bought fro9m you all perfically good and get lots of compliments on them, the quality was excelent but in the last year I find and increasing lack of workmanship on the jewellery products you are offering, the braclet I bought previous to this one, diamondelle and silver, fell appart also shortly after the 30 day limit. I am in bed most of the time, so hardly hard on the pieces I buy.I still trust the rings but would bewear of the braclets, especially those with many6 stones. I know the prices of silver nd gold has gone up, but clients realize this and do not mind payi8ng more for well constructed pieces. Bring back the quality you had a few years ago.

As is.

Par marstob

Was excited upon opening the box as the bracelet was lovely and, the emeralds were - Zambian and of a nice size. However, I haven't been able to figure out how to work the clasp, if indeed it does work. I haven't been able to nor can I in attempting it on my wrist. Either way it doesn't work. So, am taking the bracelet into the jewelers to see about another type clasp. It's a real shame as the bracelet stones are worth keeping the bracelet.

This bracelet is beautiful - the stones are good quality and I really like the clasp. It's a little tricky to figure out at first, but once you get the hang of it, it works great (very secure!). I also like to the 6 3/4 size - perfect for me!

Very pretty and good-sized stones too!!!

Par Lawgirl

I just received my bracelet today. My concern when ordering was that either the stones would be very pale and washed-out, or they would be too small to see. Well, I was wrong on both counts!!! The emeralds are beautiful, not too big nor too small. They are a pretty green colour and do not look like they are full of inclusions. Good value for the money, I haven't bothered to search for the little diamonds in the loops but suppose I will sometime. I will have to keep this bracelet now, I am very happy with it!
