Choker: 12 to 13 inches in length

Choker necklaces are made up of one to three or more strands and lie snugly in the middle of your neck. This luxurious look is very Victorian and goes best with off-the-shoulder or elegant V-neck fashions.

Collar: 14 to 16 inches in length

A classic length that accents virtually any outfit and compliments all necklines. This is the most versatile of all single strand lengths.

Princess: 17 to 19 inches in length

The princess length necklace is best suited for crew and high necklines. It also compliments low plunging necklines. It's perfect support for a pendant or enhancer.

Matinee: 20 to 24 inches in length

Longer than the princess, and just a bit shorter than an opera length, the matinee necklace is the right choice for casual or business dressing.

Opera: 28 to 34 inches in length

The opera necklace is the queen of all lengths. When worn as a single strand, it is refined and perfect for high or crew necklines. When doubled upon itself, it serves as a versatile two strand collar.

Rope: 40 inches and over in length

Dripping with elegance the rope necklace was a favourite of Coco Chanel. Wrap it to create multi-strand necklaces and bracelets or double it around your waist for a slimming effect.

About Zambian Emeralds
While Colombian and Brazilian emeralds are much sought-after, Zambian emeralds have captured a large portion of the emerald market in recent years because of their fabulously rich, deep uniform colour. Zambian emeralds have relatively few of the inclusions common to the emerald, and are also less porous and brittle than other varieties. These emeralds retain their magnificent hues even in small stones that are less than 0.5 carats, for maximum appeal no matter what their size.

About Emeralds
Regarded as a holy gemstone among the Incas and Aztecs of South America, emeralds have a fascinating history. Said to promise good luck and enhance well being, these popular gems are proudly displayed in jewellery pieces and religious icons alike. One of the world's largest emeralds is the "Mogul Emerald". Dating back to 1695 and weighing a hefty 217.80 carats, this gorgeous stone is inscribed with prayer texts and engraved with floral ornaments. A legend in its own right, this gemstone was auctioned by Christie's of London to an unidentified buyer for 2.2m US dollars on September 28, 2001.

A unique gemstone due to its luminosity, the emerald is still of a high value even with inclusions. The value lies in the bright colour of the stone. A rich, deep green emerald is worth more with inclusions than a flawless emerald whose colour is paler. Interestingly enough, specialists call the stones with many inclusions, cracks and fissures "jardin" after the French for "garden."

Nice but flimsy

Very nice colour (I love emeralds in general) but very small, hardly noticeable around the neck by anyone. Make no mistake about it, they are NOT gem quality emeralds, there are just emerald stone chips, so buy based on looks alone.I also think it is too overpriced for what it is....
The clasp is also too tiny & flimsy and broke after wearing only a few times.

Understated but eyecatching.

Simply lovely and the colour saturation is incredible. This is A LOT of emeralds. It presents an understated look that sits just around you neck but at the same time it gives a bold burst of green. The necklace is quite thin. If you like chunky beads, this is not for you. If you like more subtle jewelry, this is perfect.
