Unsure of This Necklace
Had someone given me this necklace as a gift, I would absolutely have question the validity of this product. Considering the double-strand necklace are to be Onyx beads weighing 327.60 ctw, they weigh light as a feather, as though made of resin or plastic. The neckpiece came in a torn velveteen pouch. The beads would did not hang straight & proper due to being squished into a tiny plastic zip bag stuffed inside the pouch, and then in to a very small box. I expect this kind of packaging from the mall costume jewelry stores, but not ones that are to be expensive replicas; pieces of stature. I am sure Cartier did not box their pieces in this fashion. It is important to have one's bridge jewelry to be boxed proper, whereby the container can hold the piece in proper form. It was noted that the beads were individually hand-knotted, yet this is the first piece, in all my hand-knotted pieces that I own, that I have had threads sticking out from various points throughout the strands. The special part of the neck piece, being the toggle, looks like it was made of plastic rather than pieces of beautifully quality Silver encrusted with Diamonelle. I so looked forward to having replicas of Elizabeth Grant's "exquisite jewelry" that we have all admired her wearing over the years. One could tell it was top of the line. We obviously cannot afford the type of jewelry hard work and good fortune allowed you to be blessed with, but what we can afford, we, too want to best.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
