Diane Gilman Classic Boot Cut Jean

DG jeans have been part of my wardrobe for years. The classic boot cut are still my favourites. I am only 5 ft tall - no inches. The petites fit me perfectly and it is wonderful to buy a pair of slacks that don't require any alterations at all. I have never noticed any inconsistancy with the fit either in the rise or the leg length. I have always been happy with Diane's jeans. I have always been a 4P but since I quit smoking last year I have gained weight, so my new size is 6P and they fit as well as the 4's did. I will admit that I prefer the cotton/spandex over this mix with the ramie. I hope to be able to wear these jeans until I am carted off to "the home". BTW, for the tall ladies, if I am not mistaken (and I may be), I believe that the DG jeans are available in a long size in the US. If enough people ask, perhaps TSC will bring them in, as well

Do not go by the size you usually wear but go by their size chart. I bought my usual size 6 and I could hardly get in them.

Once again, the best jeans I have ever worn. The fit is true to size and the length in the petite is perfect. Please keep bringing these to TSC!!!

Generally speaking, I really like Diane Gilman jeans because through the years they've had consistently good stretch and they're remarkably soft. And the ones I bought this time (chambray and khaki) are lighter colours so they don't have any stench of chemical dye.

That said, these are the first jeans I've bought from Diane for a couple of years and they differ from what I'm used to from her older line for several reasons, good and bad.

The good: I'm just under 5'5" tall and I bought these jeans to wear with flats. The length is perfect which is good. (The 8 petite DG jeans I have purchased in the past were definitely shorter – and a slimmer fit.) Also, I like the back pocket placement.

The bad: Though they fit well for my body type (more apple than pear), these jeans give me a horrendous muffin top even though my "belly pooch" is relatively small and these jeans fit a little big! Take the jeans higher, please, Diane!! I'm not talking about just-below-the-breasts "Mom" jeans from the 1980s but a happy medium would be nice because these jeans are way too low in the back AND way too low in the front. I think the zipper is about 3" long! Jeans that end just below the belly-button are perfect for rakishly thin adolescents but definitely not for grown women!

Also, the ramie/cotton blend of these jeans is somewhat "crinkly" and feels quite a bit thinner than the old DG jeans.

Finally, if you're reading this, Diane, could you please make the flap of material that goes into the front pockets a bit longer so that it doesn't keep popping out?

Anyhow, I am keeping these jeans because of the excellent clearance price which I can justify for primarily around-the-house jeans that will ALWAYS be worn with a tunic and NEVER with a tucked-in top. Regardless, if your top were any shorter than a tunic, it probably wouldn't even reach the jeans in order to be tucked in!

They are comfortable, but they are larger size fit. So, if you are between two sizes, get a smaller size. I only buy them when they are on sale. I find that they are overpriced.

I have these in every colour - the black is the worst in terms of the short back rise, longer than any of the other colours in the leg and smaller waist band. Each colour is totally different in sizing. But I'm in Australia and can't return them! Get some quality control going and make everything in one size the same no matter what colour.

I have several of her jeans in both the boot cut Jean & Straight Leg zipper front with embelshment that I have just recently noticed undo at the ankle (lol). I love that Diane offers a petite sizing also (even though I'm 5'6" It fits me like a glove. Anyway DIANE, THANK YOU for your amazing line of jeans and most recently I purchased the paprika tank, Navaho Blue Blazer and Paprika Boot Cut Jean. DID I MENTION to You these products are all wonderful!

The size was a little off,(they fit big) but otherwise I was happy with my purchase.

These jeans fit perfectly...I have buying them for the past few years and they are the only ones I will ever buy. I wash them inside out, gentle wash, and hang them to dry. They keep their shape and color, do not fade.
