Hugely Disappointed!!!

By auntiemooney

This is my first Genrations 1912 ring and I thought this company had highest quality standards for its products. However, the ring I got has a cloudy halo around the main stone due to being dirty (or glued?). I had this ring checked locally by a certified horologist and he looped it and verified why it was cloudy. It did have the colour shift but the flaw was too frustrating to me

So much for considering anything further from Generations 1912.

Great Real Jewellery

I did not buy this ring, but have bought four of Generation 1912 pieces over the years. I kept every item I ordered and was so very pleased in the making of it. The manufacturing in this jewellery is done in absolute perfection. I found Generation 1912 on an American station and placed orders there. I was so glad to see that The Shopping Channel added it to their jewellery line. I just wish that Bob from Generation 1912 would bring back some of the old ring styles in alexandrite. This would be about 5 years ago. Those designs have not been seen in Canada, and I am sure they would get an ah-some welcome to the TSC. shoppers. You will not be disappointed in any of Bob's jewellery.

This is the second time I have tried to order this ring. The first time the ring was beautiful with lots of sparkle, however, one of the white sapphires had fallen out.
This time I ordered it, the "white" sapphires are more of a grey colour and lack sparkle and luster. The middle alexandrite looks like it may have a crack in it. I noticed another reviewer reported this so I am wondering if received the one she returned?
The setting itself is very nice and appears to be well done.
I think it would be nice if Generations 1912 would do a better job of ensuring they use quality stones.
The price was good, however if the ring isn't up to standards then really is it a good price?
I haven't decided if I will try to have TSC replace the ring or I will just return it.

I really did not expect that I would be returning this ring, but sadly, that is what I did.

The overall look was just dull and underwhelming. It's hard to believe but there was not much sparkle in any of the gemstones.

I did find the setting to be very comfortable and like the profile of this ring.

Lovely Ring

By Denise

from Ottawa (ON)

I ordered this ring in the gold plate. It has a lovely setting and the stones are a good size. There is no major change in colour but I kept it as I really like it. Plus, for the price, you can't go wrong!

Alexandrite???, In Your Dreams!!

By Pace Bunny

If I could give zero stars, this "Alexandrite" ring would get it!

A true Russian Alexandrite is also called a "stop and go" stone due to its change of colour from reddish to green hues in various light. This ring has none of that. Its colour is a flat, pale almost washed out green, with no contrasts whatsoever.

The workmanship isn't that special, plus, the centre stone in the ring I received has a Large Diaginal CRACK running through the stone!! The crack is visible without the aide of a loop. This cracking of the stone must have happened when it was being cut. So that seems to indicate it was machine cut with no human inspection done. One of the shoulder stones is so included as to appear almost gray in colour. Where Was Your Quality Control Mr. W.??

Needless to say this ring has gone back to TSC and of course I won't be paying their "restocking" fee.

In future I will take anything said on Generation 1912 with a huge grain of salt. Once burned, twice shy!

I am very happy that I ordered this ring. The stones are absolutely gorgeous and the setting is unique. I will continue to order more from this line in the future. Thank you Bob for bringing this line to the Shopping Channel.

Finally - a gorgeous Russian Alexandrite

By Cheryl

from Medicine Hat, Alberta

I wrote a review on this ring a while back. I wasn't thrilled with the washed-out colour of the alexandrite but wrote that I would keep it anyhow because I want a genuine piece of Russian Alexandrite. That was about the third ring I had ordered as I kept returning them all due to poor quality stones. After looking at the one I was going to keep, it just didn't feel right as I wasn't happy, so I ordered two more!! Finally, I received a ring that I am very pleased with. The alexandrite is actually green. With the other rings, you could barely tell the difference between the alexandrite and the white sapphires. I would love to own a much larger stone, but I guess that isn't going to happen. As for other reviewers saying that the stone changes colour; I'd like to know what they're on!! This stone simply does NOT change colour. I've ordered at least five of them and not once have I seen any colour changing. I have on immitation alexandrite, however, not once on the real stone. I not a great fan of this stone, but since it's suppose to be rare, I wanted one in my collection.

Let the compliments begin!

By tindz

I've always been a big fan of Generations 1912 and have several pieces but I don't recall any other piece getting more compliments than I've had with this ring.
I ordered the rhodium plate, love the sparkle and have been wearing it non-stop since I recieved it. The colour of the stones I have do change with different lighting and is very noticable on the larger stone. Regardless to this the workmanship is gorgeous and I do not hesitate to recommend it.

from mulmur ont.

received my ring today & what a beauty she is. i will admit i was expecting the setting to be far to large for my hand as i have small, fine hands.but when i put the ring on all i said was hello!!,she is prefect.although i was a little upset that the stone was not quite the same as we were told mine dose not have a very clear colour change, if any but,in saying that the colour is a pretty minty colour which is so uncommon. love love love it.
