one of my favorite pieces
By home shopper
from St. John's NL
I wear this ring almost every day . It is comfortable and beautiful. When I wear my sunglasses the stones appear pink. This suggests that it does have color change properties. Other green objects do not appear pink. The light source might be attributed to the color shift. any one else find this? I do love the green color wish that I had the matching earrings.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Alexandrite, ruler of the Urals
By Fearless Fosdick
I ordered the ring because I do like the more exotic gems. I chose the rhodium plate because the gem should be the focus of attention and I find that yellow gold detracts from the colour of the gem. The stone does change colour depending on the type of light. This ring is not only comfortable to wear but it doesn't overwhelm the hand as well. The setting also makes this gem the centre of attention. I would consider purchasing more Alexandrite in the future. I would have purchased earrings as well but I didn't because I have a tendency to lose one earring. Hopefully Generations 1912 will offer a marquis cut stone on its own, without any white sapphires, topazes, etc.

unsatisfactory return refund process
from Ottawa, Ontario
I am very sad to write this review as it will reflect on this particular product. However when TSC advertises that returns are available within 30 days of receipt that is not true in my case.I returned this ring within the 30 days and TSC received my return on July 10, 2013. To date, August 2,2013, I am still waiting for the credit on my Visa. In the meantime I have been charged for the second payment. I have been told several times that the credit will appear in a few days but it hasn't happened. As a regular SC customer I am extremely unhappy with this situation and seriously consider whether to purchase anything else unless I am assured of prompt refunds.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Love this ring
Alexandrite is my birthstone and have always wanted a Russian alexandrite. This ring in the rhodium plate is beautiful and does not disappoint. The color change is subtle but given the price point you cannot expect more. I love it - Generations 1912 has, in my view, another hit with this one.

I bought the ring in gold plate. The ring design is lovely and is comfortable to wear. Unfortunately he stones were not as impressive as I had hoped. Only one of the little stones changed to the reddish colour in different light. In daylight the stones were average. Overall the ring is well made.
Beautiful design but stone is lacking
This is probably the most comfortable ring I've ever worn. I ordered the size 6 and it fit my finger perfectly, with no spinning around. The ring is substantial and the design is beautiful, with gorgeous carving and sparkling sapphires setting off the main stone. Unfortunately, the ring I received had an alexandrite stone that was colourless for the most part, with just a touch of mint green in natural light and with little sparkle. Although I loved the ring, I couldn't justify keeping it. It sounds from other reviews that some people who ordered the ring were lucky and received more vibrant stones. Hopefully Generations 1912 will offer us a future opportunity to purchase a ring in that beautiful design - with a stone that does it justice.

Purchased this ring as it was presented as Russian Alexandrite. The ring is well made, however, the stones do not change color at all. Looks like a pale version of a peridot or chrysoberyl. Wonder now if it is chrsysoberyl. Disappointed in Bob Weinman. I will be more cautions in the future when purchasing from Generations 1912.

Gen 1912 Russian Akexandrite Ring
from Ontario, Canada
About 4 months ago, my husband knew all I ever wanted was my very own TRUE GEMSTONE as I was born at the end of June.On April 10th, 2013, my husband passed away so quickly, it blindsided me. I recall his words back in March of 2013, on your birthday, order yourself your very special ring and I sure did.I called Bob Weinman in New York City to ask for an appraisal certificate and it is "on its way".Thanks Bob for always keeping your promises and being so honest and lots of fun to watch on TV.Every single time I look down on my finger, I see my husband's amazing smile and to me, this is more than just a beautiful ring, but a constant reminder that my husband was so amazing to me, and would only ever want nothing but the best for me - this is why I love thing ring, not only is it beautiful but a constant reminder of his love for me, and that will never ever die. Unfortunately, my husband passed away about 6 weeks before our 45th wedding anniversary. This ring to me, is a constant reminder that he is very near and his unselfish acts of love.
A classic piece of art work; not dated. Alexandrite & Sapphire not outlandish.Feels quite comfortable wearing on all occasions. My 88 year old mother would wear this ring and feel quite comfortable too.No regrets.

No disappointment here....
from Langley, BC
This ring is absolutely gorgeous. I gave this to my daughter for a belated 44th birthday present (June...birth stone is Alexandrite) & she was in awe of it, hasn't taken it off since. I wish I had bought one for myself. Contrary to some of the comments, I realize that it's not 14k nor even 10k real gold and that these are not diamonds, they are white sapphire. However, the ring I rec'd has all the qualities of the 'real' thing. Personally, I think it's beautiful and well worth the money, either at show-stopper price or full price. Over the years I have purchased a few Alexandrite pieces from Generations 1912 and have never been disappointed yet with the quality. My other pieces are 14k & real diamonds and I paid considerably more for them. Appearance wise, one would not know that this ring is gold plated and not 10k or 14k real gold. I am just as pleased with this ring purchase as I was with my other pieces and this one is definitely more affordable, and, in my opinion, just as gorgeous. The design is top-notch and lays lower on the finger which is what I like. Generations 1912 is quality jewellry.
