Overall Nice ring
from Ottawa, ON
This is a well crafted ring, lots of detail. I bought two hoping for a third. The alexandrite's are a very lovely shade of emerald/mint green in daylight. The two smaller stones do change to a dark purplish tint, and are of a better quality. The center stones don't really change colour, however, The center stone in the rings,is a very pale if not non existent change. I was hoping to purchase three rings as I am not married, nor do I have any children, but I do have three nieces for whom I had hoped to leave behind a treasured keep sake some day. After multiple exchanges, a third ring wasn't possible.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was attracted to this ring from the time it was first introduced, but it was too expensive for me. After reading the negative reviews, I was hesitant to buy the ring, but when the price was reduced again, I couldn't resist. The alexandrites are a lovely shade of mint green in sunlight and fluorescent light. In artificial light, they remind me a bit of tanzanite. The gold plating is rich-looking. Altogether a great ring.
Wonderful mill grain tool work, and a credit to the jeweller! However, centre stone is pale, cloudy, and has a significant diagonal inclusion beneath the table. I have several Russian Alexandrites and this is not a gem quality stone. I'm returning it in the hope of exchanging it for one with better centre stone colour and clarity. The two smaller Alexandrites were better quality than the centre stone.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Love it, love it, love it!!!

Received my Russian Alexandrite and white sapphire ring in the mail today and am overwhelmed. It is even more beautiful than it looked on TV. I just love the green of the Alexandrite, however, this evening, sitting by a lamp, it looks a violet colour. Just beautiful. And the price was certainly unbeatable. This is the third ring I have purchased from Generations 1912 and Bob definitely hasn't let me down yet. One ring I purchased only came in the yellow gold plate, however, Bob said "on air" that if you want it in Rhodium plate, just send to me in New York. I will plate it and send it back, free of charge. So I ordered it in the gold, sent it to Bob in New York, and true to his word, he returned it in Rhodium and it didn't cost me a cent. Thank you Bob. I will definitely be buying more of his products.

This is my first Genrations 1912 ring and I thought this company had highest quality standards for its products. However, the ring I got has a cloudy halo around the main stone due to being dirty (or glued?). I had this ring checked locally by a certified horologist and he looped it and verified why it was cloudy. It did have the colour shift but the flaw was too frustrating to meSo much for considering anything further from Generations 1912.

Great Real Jewellery

I did not buy this ring, but have bought four of Generation 1912 pieces over the years. I kept every item I ordered and was so very pleased in the making of it. The manufacturing in this jewellery is done in absolute perfection. I found Generation 1912 on an American station and placed orders there. I was so glad to see that The Shopping Channel added it to their jewellery line. I just wish that Bob from Generation 1912 would bring back some of the old ring styles in alexandrite. This would be about 5 years ago. Those designs have not been seen in Canada, and I am sure they would get an ah-some welcome to the TSC. shoppers. You will not be disappointed in any of Bob's jewellery.

This is the second time I have tried to order this ring. The first time the ring was beautiful with lots of sparkle, however, one of the white sapphires had fallen out. This time I ordered it, the "white" sapphires are more of a grey colour and lack sparkle and luster. The middle alexandrite looks like it may have a crack in it. I noticed another reviewer reported this so I am wondering if received the one she returned? The setting itself is very nice and appears to be well done. I think it would be nice if Generations 1912 would do a better job of ensuring they use quality stones. The price was good, however if the ring isn't up to standards then really is it a good price? I haven't decided if I will try to have TSC replace the ring or I will just return it.

I really did not expect that I would be returning this ring, but sadly, that is what I did.The overall look was just dull and underwhelming. It's hard to believe but there was not much sparkle in any of the gemstones. I did find the setting to be very comfortable and like the profile of this ring.

I ordered this ring in the gold plate. It has a lovely setting and the stones are a good size. There is no major change in colour but I kept it as I really like it. Plus, for the price, you can't go wrong!

Alexandrite???, In Your Dreams!!
By Pace Bunny

If I could give zero stars, this "Alexandrite" ring would get it!A true Russian Alexandrite is also called a "stop and go" stone due to its change of colour from reddish to green hues in various light. This ring has none of that. Its colour is a flat, pale almost washed out green, with no contrasts whatsoever. The workmanship isn't that special, plus, the centre stone in the ring I received has a Large Diaginal CRACK running through the stone!! The crack is visible without the aide of a loop. This cracking of the stone must have happened when it was being cut. So that seems to indicate it was machine cut with no human inspection done. One of the shoulder stones is so included as to appear almost gray in colour. Where Was Your Quality Control Mr. W.?? Needless to say this ring has gone back to TSC and of course I won't be paying their "restocking" fee.In future I will take anything said on Generation 1912 with a huge grain of salt. Once burned, twice shy!
