PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)
PTFE is a chemical found in traditional nonstick coatings. It can begin to degrade at temperatures over 500º, which is why the instructions on traditional nonstick pans generally advise to use them only on low and medium heat. You can use Thermolon™ on low and medium heat like traditional nonstick, but unlike traditional nonstick coated pans, it's also made to be used at high heat (above 500º) for something you would normally use stainless steel or cast iron cookware for. Now you can do it all with one pan!
PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic Acid)
PFOA is a chemical that is used in the manufacturing of traditional PTFE-based nonstick cookware coatings and other products. It is not present in finished cookware products, and there are no health risks from PFOA in cookware. However, because PFOA has been found in the environment, many companies have committed to work toward eliminating facility emissions and product content of PFOA. Thermolon? is made without PFOA. It is made to be eco-friendly for our environment.
About Thermolon™
Thermolon™ is a patented, natural ceramic non-stick coating that does not contain any harmful toxic chemicals. It is extremely durable and three times more abrasion resistant than traditional polymer based non-stock coatings. It has an industry high heat tolerance of 450°C / 850°F and is oven safe even under the broiler. Thermolon will not release any toxic fumes, blister or peel even if heated above 500° providing searing performance of stainless steel or cast iron with the cleanup of non-stick.

About Thermolon™ Rocks
The latest non-stick technology from GreenPan™, Thermolon™ Rocks cookware really performs! The hard anodized aluminum exterior offers even heat conduction and consistent temperatures. The exterior is twice as hard as stainless steel, making it very resistant to chipping or scratching.
The non-stick coating provides for easy food-release and fast cleanup. Even better, it contains no synthetic plastics - such as PTFE's and PFOA's - which are found in many traditional non-stick coatings. These chemicals can begin to break down at temperatures over 500°F (260°C). But not Thermolon™ Rocks! This cookware is made to withstand temperatures of up to 850°F (450°C), without compromising performance. It is also abrasion resistant.
