Horrible chemical smell after using
I used the Green Pan pressure cooker twice before I sent it back. It was very easy to use, after my 40 year old, hissing, spitting, noisy, stove top pressure cooker but this one had a horrible chemical smell. After the first use I noticed a chemical type of smell which I couldn't get rid of no matter how well I washed and cleaned it. The smell got so much worse after the second use - so bad that the whole room smelled, no matter where I stored it. Couldn't possibly use it again as the food would absorb the smell. Would definitely NOT recommend this pressure cooker and, like I said, I've been using a stove-top version for 40 years with no chemical smells or problems.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great Product - Poor information
from Sudbury, Ontario
I love that this replaces a number of appliances in my kitchen. I was able to get rid of 2 crock pots, and a rice cooker. It is easy to clean and use once you figure it out. Love the delayed start feature for the slow cooker function - no more overcooked meals when i arrive home from work later than expected.I agree with the comments about the need for a recipe booklet to be included. I did download the one from this site but would have like more recipes especially for the ones demo'ed during the program. So far I used it mostly for soups and slow cooker functions, need to find recipes for the pressure cooker aspect.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Insert coating chipped after first use!
I was very excited to receive this product as I was looking to upgrade from a simple rice cooker purchased from TSC years ago. I downloaded the recipe booklet in PDF format from the TSC site and tried the paprikash. The unit worked beautifully but after clean-up, I noticed that the insert coating was chipped in three spots. I used a woden spoon during cooking and a soft sponge for clean-up. Obviously, the quality of the insert coating is nowhere near the quality of the GreenPan frying pans that I have had for years. So disappointing. Unit went back to TSC yesterday. I'll stick with my existing rice cooker.
LOVE THIS PRESSURE COOKER

I had a pressure cooker before but it was too bulky, this one is very compact. It even cooks the meals faster as was mentioned by chef Mark. Very easy to clean up. I love the fact that the buttons are large enough to select. This is a beautiful and efficient product. I will recommend this to anyone. Thank you TSC.
I too was very disappointed that there was not even one recipe to go by to get a person started to use the cooker.Green Pan show have a recipe booklet enclosed, for the first time user this product is not worth keeping, so I have returned it.

needs a better instruction manual
By Kismet Girl
I have used used pressure cookers my whole life. Was very excited about the Green Pan version as I have several Green Pan sets and love the product. I was shocked when I looked at the manual as it does not really explain what you can do with the machine in detail. I have made some recipes and have been very pleased and the clean up with the GreenPan insert is fabulous. However, each function should have detailed instructions for use as well as a couple of recipes to illustrate the technique. I went on the American HSN to see their demo to see if they gave some more insight, and they did. A cookbook is very important especially to pressure cooker novices. The poor manual is a serious flaw as I think I'm really going to like the machine once I figure it out.

I just received my pressure cooker and was very disappointed to find that a small cookbook with some starter recipes was not included. The only thing with it was an instruction booklet on how to clean and care for it. I phoned the Shopping Channel helpline and was told that a cookbook was not included and that I could order a pressure cookbook separately for $19.95, which then did as I have not used a pressure cooker before and the machine would be useless to me. I looked online after and saw that the cookbook I ordered is not even for this machine. It will not help either with the other functions of the machine, ie slowcooker. I have never ordered any cooking appliance before that did not include at least some recipe samples. I am very disappointed.
