Commercial Cool by Haier 11,500 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

This unit has great cooling capacity, and the dehumidifier is a great feature. Noise is not realy an issue from this unit, as a window unit with half the cooling power would make more. Controls and remote control are easy to use and straight forward. I purchased the unit as Haier units have been reliable in the past.

My husband and I purchased this Haier air conditioner when it was the Todays Show Stopper. We Love, Love, It. It starts a very quick cool down the minute you turn it on and keeps our apartment cool all day and night.
At least now we do not have to lift and place the old, heavy, air conditioner in the window or make sure there is a drip pan below. We just roll it to whatever area we want to use it, place the window kit in that window, set the hose in place, and turn it on.
It is one of our best purchases from The Shopping Channel. We are very pleased and I thank you for getting Haier in stock.

I recently bought a Hailer A/C from the shopping channel. When I tried it worked, although it was pretty noisy I decided to keep it because it looks nice and goes well with the decor of my living room.

A few weeks ago when the weather got hot I started using it and the second time I used it, it broke down and the power would not go on. I called the Haier customer service and they sent a technician to fix it but he could not fix it as he needed a part which he had to order and told me it would take a week or so to get it. I would have returned the unit to the shopping Channel if the 30 day return period had not expired. I emailed Haier with a copy to the Shopping Channel, telling them that I needed the A/C with the peak of the hot summer upon us with the heatwaves. If I had to wait weeks for it to be repaired it would beat the purpose of buying an airconditioner and that I would appreciate if they could find a quick solution. That was nearly three weeks ago and I haven't had even an acknowledgement from either Haier or the shopping Channel.

I was under the impression that the Shopping Channel does due diligence on the products and the quality of the customer service and after sale service of the companies whose products they recommend and sell at the Shopping Channel. Obviously I was mistaken, consequently, I am weathering the heat waves with an expensive piece of useless junk a.k.a. Hailer airconditioner highly recommended by TSC sitting in my living room. My guess is that Haier has never heard of courier service and the required part is being transported from China overland and sea by boat and horse wagon or they simply couldn't care less about customers' problems with Haier products. I have been a steady customer of TSC for a while but I am disappointed and disenchanted now.

If you don't mind a noisy, unreliable A/C unit, going without A/C for long periods of time in case of a breakdown and dealing with an uncaring company with less than desirable customer service, this would be the ideal product for you.

I would give 4.5 stars!

The immediacy of the cooling action is amazing!

Yes, louder than "ultra quiet." The advertisers fibbed a bit in my opinion to use this wording. That said, if you look at their decible scale, it does show the sound as "between a regular fan and a light rainfall" which is accurate.

The only other improvement would be to include a flat pan to collect the water in when draining the dehumidifier water from the unit. You need a reeeeeeally shallow pan to collect the water! I had to go out and buy one in fact. Nice if one was included of the appropriate size. Wouldn't be much more $ for Haier to include!

All in all, LOVE this unit! Like I said, entire apartment building is like a sauna and then I open my door and... wow! Coolness for me and my pets! ;)

Some people complain about the noise of the unit but you have an engine(compressor)your room. I love thats it is portable. I can cool all of my rooms I'm in. Yes the drain I think is a pain in dehumidifier mode it does collect the moisture. I just say for a floor unit that's not a window or central it's the next best way to beat the heat. Need another show stopper TSC!

I have a two bedroom condo, and this is the second unit i have purchased (a different brand). This unit cools the area very quickly, but it is very loud. So loud that two people in the building have asked me what the noise is that runs all through the night. It would be nice if it were quieter, but it works and i am very happy with the capability of the unit and the price. I love that it blends into the room decor, and that it is able to move into another room if needed. I would recommend it to anyone, as long as they had neighbours who didn't complain. :)

Received unit and had set it up quickly. The maneuverability of the hose was a little frustrating, but finally got it connected. I agree with comment that it is NOT a quiet unit and that there should be a night mode for quieter operation. I live in a townhouse and it cools 2 of the three bedrooms and a bathroom of an end unit.
Overall, it performs as stated. It has been a lifesaver with the heatwave in the Ottawa area.
As for the manual, it needs work. It isn't specific on assembly or operation of unit. Perhaps with the next upgrade of this unit, all of our suggestions will be taken into consideration.

I found the installation quick and simple. Being on wheels it is very mobile. The remote control is great. This unit has a variety of settings for controlling the speed of the fan and you can preset the cooling temperature for automatic (turning on and off). I have a 1200 sq ft house and it cools down the entire top floor from 83 degrees to 69 degrees in just under 40 minutes. Extra installation kits (for using this AC in other rooms) need to be ordered from the manufacturer, (not a big deal).

There is no way this should be advertised as ultra quiet. When the compressor is running it has a loud vibrating pulse to it, and when the compressor shuts off theres a loud thunk - enough to jolt you out of bed. So not a good unit for the bedroom.
Having said that, it does cool the room down
and blows nice and cold.
But dont like the sound of this, so I must return it.

The Unit was delivered early because it was by Courier.
It took me a week and a half to set it up.
The Manual Set up instructions are minimal and unless one is used to DIY stuff, this manual is lacking.
I was disappointed in the options with this unit.
I have another unit just a bit less BTU which has many other options including 'Smart Mode' which changes between AC to
Fan automatically and my favourite mode which is 'Sleep Mode' that is less noisy during the night. All of these are programmable on a timer.
This unit is very disappointing in regards to flexibility of programs.
The unit also is a bit noisy.
The unit stopped working during the night on the first day I tried it.
It was hell trying to troubleshoot it due to the limited guidance in the manual.
I still don't know what was wrong but today I turned it on and it is now functioning.
I will probably send it back even though the price is great.
It seems too unreliable.
