uncomfortable, top heavy

The turquoise in this ring is beautiful. I love the size, shape, alignment, low profile and colour of the stone. However, the design of the silver swirls on the shank creates a rough "lip" that is uncomfortable for adjacent fingers. I expect this ring would cause blistering on those fingers. Once you get past the swirls, the lower shank lacks substance (not enough silver). So the swirl part of the shank is too thick and the base of the shank is too thin. In addition, the swirl design competes with and detracts from the vibrant turquoise and they (the swirls) on this ring are truly unattractive even though I love the swirl motif. I think this ring should have showcased the turquoise in which case the shank would have had to be simpler in design. I really wanted this turquoise ring, but I'm very disappointed that I would be unable to wear it. A couple of years ago, Himalayan Gems offered a "turquoise" (Smithsonite, actually) ring that had a wide band. There was also a matching bracelet. I missed out on both items as the Smithsonite sold out very quickly. I would love to see a repeat of that design using turquoise.
