Too much suction for upholstery
Lots of positives--compact, lightweight and easy to use. But this product would be so much better if it had an option for less suction. It's impossible to use this on well-upholstered furniture; it pulls the fabric out of shape, even if the attachment is used on its side. It's also too powerful for ceiling fans and, as others have suggested, certain area rugs. I'd hoped for one vacuum for all my needs. This isn't it.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Way too much suction
My husband and I were so excited about receiving this vacuum. We have hardwood floors and many area rugs throughout our home. Unfortunately, while it does a great job on the hardwood, moving from hardwood to rugs is not ideal. The suction on this vacuum is SO strong that it's very difficult to vacuum across an area rug. You have to put all your force into it; not an effortless job at all! I think Hoover is trying to compete with other big brand names and like other reviews on this page state, too much suction isn't always a good thing. Too bad because the size and wait of the product is very good. Bottom line, if you have area rugs and hardwood floors, this may not be the vacuum for you. Unless you plan on getting a workout every time you use it!
Do NOT, repeat NOT buy this model ...

There is a defect in this model, pictured. See on the bottom where the hose "clips" onto the machine? Well the defect is the threaded hose is only GLUED and your hose falls off the clip. And unfortunately the machine is useless because your machine no longer sucks. Google it, lots of upset customers with the same problem as me.The newer model doesn't have the clip. But if you buy the model with the clip, it's tough luck. Especially if you're past the warranty period. My replacement machine is a Shark Rotater - I highly recommend it, its as good as my Electrolux was 20 years ago!
Yes, the suction is way too strong
I have experienced all the issues that the other reviewers have listed. I was trying to vacuum a small carpet that was just thick with cat hair. The machine picked up all the fur (no need for that "pet turbo hand tool") but every time the machine got to the edge of the carpet, it sucked the carpet up and I had to turn the machine off. It was impossible to clean the edges of the carpet.I have tried the technique one reviewer mentions about hold the machine at an angle, and that works quite well, but it is very annoying to have to do that. It's very light and so it is easy to carry around.I am not sending it back but I am not recommending it to a friend either.

Suction to strong
By Carefull shopper
I have 4 hairy pets and was looking for a compact machine to deal with pet hair on furniture and one that has a hepa filter. My house is small and I have a combination of laminate and linoleum flooring. The machine often sucks so strongly I have to turn it off to break the suction. I have not been able to figure out how to use the accessories with out the long pipe part so trying to clean in confined spaces is very difficult and holding the tool attachments is uncomfortable for my hands. The suction is to powerful for items like stuffed toys or delicate draperies. I do not think I will be able to make much use of the tool assortment included. I also find it gets very hot quickly when using,I like the compact size and the long cord. It is probably a better machine for a larger home with lots of carpets I would have retuned it but do not have a car and would have been out of pocket for the initial shipping.
Hard time getting what I ordered

When my wind tunnel arrived, all of the accessories were missing. I called customer care and they told me to return it and they would send out another one.A week later, vacuum #2 arrived, again with no accessories. I called again and was put through to "escalations" dept. The customer care rep was very understanding and assured me that it would get straightened out. After an entire month of calling back and forth, TSC finally called to say the warehouse mgr personally was checking the box for accessories, and would put shipping labels on himself. Another week went by and I finally received a complete vacuum.Much thanks to the staff in "escalations" for getting the job done.P.S. the vacuum is great!

WOW! I purchased this just so I had a upright cleaner for the upstairs to sit in a corner for quick clean-ups. Well! This turns out to be and is one of the best floor/carpet cleaners I have ever purchased. Never seen one with this much suction in any kind of cleaner upright or other. I've paid up to $1000 for a cleaner but this is the best one I've ever tried.Extremely happy. This one is a keeper!

It's advertised as having such strong suction that the vacuum will stick to the wall vertically. Now imagine that suction on your carpet or floor. Too much suction is not always a good thing. In an effort to compete with Dyson, Hoover thinks strong suction is all that matters. However, I now have a vacuum that is so strong I cannot budge it an inch on certain rugs. I have to turn it off to break the suction. I'm unable to vacuum the area carpets and it even gets stuck on certain parts of the kitchen floor (linoleum), with the beater brush off! It worked well on the hardwood floor and our living room carpet. That's it. I still have to use another vacuum for the area carpets, etc. The tools are also a problem. They suck onto a spot and don't let go. While vacuuming my couch, I had to use the tool at an angle to allow air to escape or it was impossible to use.Bottom line is that this is a great vacuum if you have the right pile of carpet and super even floors. It's russian roulette if you don't. We're not going to return it because of the return shipping cost but you can be assured we won't be ordering anything else from TSC. It's not worth it.
Very powerful But light
It was so light and small when I took out of box - I thought this can't be very powerful. Especially since I have a large dog that sheds. Well ...... Used on my living room rug, dining room rug and then into the kitchen hardwood floor .... WOW. The canister was 1/4 full. Very powerful with the brushes on the rugs and smooth on the floors. Really love my new Hoover
I love my new vacuum!

Just finished trying it out and am amazed as to what it picked up, even after I had vacuumed yesterday with my old vacuum! Very nice light weight product which transitions nicely from hardwood to carpet.
