About Agate
No gemstone is more creatively striped by nature than agate, chalcedony quartz that forms in concentric layers in a wide variety of colours and textures. Each individual agate forms by filling a cavity in host rock. As a result, agate is often found as a round nodule, with concentric bands like the rings of a tree trunk. The bands sometimes look like eyes, fanciful scallops, or even a landscape with trees.

An award winning master of stained glass lighting designs, JJ Peng has been compared to a modern day Louis Comfort Tiffany. To date, JJ Peng has sold over 3 million lamps worldwide. Many of his innovative designs are considered collectables and individual pieces have been commissioned by discerning collectors around the world.
JJ Peng discovered his passion for stained glass during his university years in Taiwan. While traveling abroad to the United States and on to the United Kingdom, his passion for the art grew and his love of stained glass became an obsession.
In 1979, JJ Peng opened his first factory to produce his work using state-of-the-art materials. Today, his factory is thriving with over one thousand workers including apprentices that seek his knowledge and the opportunity to learn from the master of stained glass lighting design.
Taking his inspiration from nature, JJ Peng plays with the magic of light and the drama of colour to create a variety of light fixtures, gift-giving items, mirrors, window panels and furniture to complement any style of decor.
As a member of the association of stained glass lamp artists, JJ Peng has had the great honour to be recognized and featured for many years in their award winning annual calendars.
