About the Dragon:
The dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese zodiac, which consists of 12 animal signs. The dragon is the creature of myth and legend. In ancient China, the celestial dragon represents an emperor and power. Today, it is the ultimate auspicious symbol signifying success and happiness. In Sung Dynasty (a Chinese imperial dynasty lasting from 360-1279AD) texts, the dragon is described as having the head of an ox, muzzle of a donkey, eyes of a shrimp, horns of a deer, body of a serpent covered in fish scales and feet of a phoenix.

The dragon usually clutches a pearl symbolic of its super natural powers. Invariably accompanied by thunder & rain, dragons move like lightning and whirlwinds all powerful yet totally unpredictable.

About Jade

It’s been called the stone of the heavens, the musical stone, and “the essence of Heaven and Earth.” Jade has been considered a royal, sacred gemstone in China since at least 2950 BC. Pure jade (called “mutton fat jade”) is actually white, and quite rare. Other colours come from small mineral levels in the stone.

JADE OF YESTERYEAR COLLECTION INSPIRATION

This is inspired by my personal collection of jade that I have acquired over many years from all around the world. Since most of the jade carvings in this collection are over century old, it makes it very difficult to replicate. A lot of the art of jade carving has been lost through out the years so it took us a long time to contract a master Jade Carver to complete this collection. This collection features replicates of old jade carving and sterling silver pieces mixed with gemstone and CZ.

I am Chinese born in Taiwan raised in N. Africa and educated in the United States. I spend most of my vacation time through out Europe and Arabian countries. I adore jewellery and spend over 30 years of collecting jewelry especially jade effects. I find this collection especially fascinating because of the bridge between east and west—antique Chinese jade fashioned in western style. It is very classic and yet as timely today as they were at the time the original pieces were made. It is a way of wearing art and history.

Jade is a stone that has been used by many cultures and civilization. Its natural variation of color adds to the character and charm of each piece. Jade is used as spiritual ornament from Chinese Neolithic era to the Mayan culture.

It is adored by noble men and woman as luxurious objects Ancient Chinese cities were traded for a piece of Jade.

I remember 20 years ago, finding few of these pieces in antique houses and auctions were such a joy but today if I ran across one it is such serendipity. I am sure this limited collection of jade of yesteryear will become a collectible in years to come.

Stella

Choker: 12 to 13 inches in length

Choker necklaces are made up of one to three or more strands and lie snugly in the middle of your neck. This luxurious look is very Victorian and goes best with off-the-shoulder or elegant V-neck fashions.

Collar: 14 to 16 inches in length

A classic length that accents virtually any outfit and compliments all necklines. This is the most versatile of all single strand lengths.

Princess: 17 to 19 inches in length

The princess length necklace is best suited for crew and high necklines. It also compliments low plunging necklines. It's perfect support for a pendant or enhancer.

Matinee: 20 to 24 inches in length

Longer than the princess, and just a bit shorter than an opera length, the matinee necklace is the right choice for casual or business dressing.

Opera: 28 to 34 inches in length

The opera necklace is the queen of all lengths. When worn as a single strand, it is refined and perfect for high or crew necklines. When doubled upon itself, it serves as a versatile two strand collar.

Rope: 40 inches and over in length

Dripping with elegance the rope necklace was a favourite of Coco Chanel. Wrap it to create multi-strand necklaces and bracelets or double it around your waist for a slimming effect.
