Birdseye rhyolite is mined in northern Mexico in the northwestern state of Chihuahua. Rhyolite is an igneous, volcanic rock of felsic composition. Rhyolite is made up of quartz, feldspar and plagioclase. Rhyolite was formed when the volcanoes erupted, then it started to rain and the raindrops are what created the bursts within the design of the stone.
