Joan Rivers Drawstring Waist Boyfriend Shirt

I really wanted the bronze so ordered it in small even though I am medium according to the size chart , also ordered black in medium. Turns.out the garment is generous and the small is the best fit. The fabric is crisp, so it doesn't fall softly against the body and its noisy when you move. Some like that but I find it annoying. Many compliments received on the bronze as the colour.is beautiful and rich. The black is too much like a department store or beauty salon smock to feel comfortable when wearing it. Order a size down in a colour and you should be happy.

I ordered the blue and teal. Well, the teal went back immediately, it looked more like a celery green. The blue also is not the vibrant blue as shown but I will keep it as the color is still quite nice and the fit is good. I will get it shortened as I am 5'5" and it looks more like a coat than a shirt. I wish the blue had been available in XS, as the small is a little big - I am a size 2. Good quality material and well made!

I'd seen this shirt modelled on tv some time ago but couldn't decide if I would purchase it. What concerned me was the drawstring and where it would lay on me. I decided to buy and chose lavender. When it arrived I was not disappointed. The colour is beautiful and the texture and feel of the fabric is very nice. BUT the drawstring doesn't hit where my waist is. It lays above my waist and I'm trying to determine whether or not it can be altered. So at this moment I haven't decided if I will keep this blouse or return it.

I just received mine. I ordered 2, the black and the blue.They are nice and fit well too but the blue is not the colour that shows on the web so I will be returning that one but will be keeping the black one.

I purchased this in the Bronze/Brown colour and I was generally pleased with the fit, sizing and colour. It was my first Joan Rivers purchase...and I am waiting now for the right purchase in her jewellery/watch collection.

This was my very first Joan Rivers clothing purchase.

I ordered both the black and the brown bronze in a larger size. I thought that these two garments would make absolutely stunning jackets - and I was absolutely correct!!

They are very classy looking & they can be worn with everthing from leggings in the summer to dress pants in the winter.

The fabrication is gorgeous & expensive looking. I wore the bronze jacket with a black tank & black pant with a high heel patent leather boot. I received a ton of compliments!

Joan - this is beautiful fabric. It would be fantastic to bring out other oversized shirts and different styled jackets for the spring & summer. I would love to see this fabric in white, pink with black trim & other summer colors!! A pull on capris with a turned up hem & tab similar to the current sleeve on this item would looking smashing.

Keep this wonderful fabric coming...

As you can see I said that is absolutely gorgeous but I was hesitant when I first saw it, as I'm an XS. Just thought I'd give some of you a little advice (I'm sure many don't need MY advice!) Anyway....what I do with this, being small, is I really cinch the tie belt in (by the way the shoulders fit perfectly) and I always use the tabs on shirt sleeves if they have them like this - it really takes it up a notch. Also, I love that the collar stays standing up if you know what I mean - that always makes a shirt like this more trendy. I've also tried different belts I have on with this and a couple look gorgeous. Wearing a silky looking long scarf (to go with the chantung silk look) also adds to it. I've worn it twice and compliments galore.

I managed to get in on the last XS in what Joan described as a Bronzey colour. Received it yesterday and loved it so much, was afraid to try it on because it looked so huge, even though it's a "Boyfriend Shirt" and meant to be big! I'm quite tiny and love big tops over jeggings/leggings and pencil skirts. Well, plucked up the courage to try it on this morning and it's absolutely GORGEOUS. Yes, the material looks totally authentic (as in chantung silk) and has a beautiful weight to it and is SO well made. I wouldn't even buy real chantung silk as it's too hard to wash. I've only ever purchased once before from Joan (2 velour zip front loungers) and they were perfect too. I would even say that this is the best item to date that I've purchased from TSC - thanks Joan - love ya! My "guilty pleasure" is watching you on Fashion Police....I laugh & laugh.

Sizing is one of the most important things about a garment. Since this shirt seemed very similar to item 577-084, which I bought in 3 colors, I bought this in 3 colors in the same size, but it fits much, much smaller. It doesn't fit at all and now I'm left with no special new shirts. Other than that, it's the same wonderful fabric and I'm just in love with the colors! awwww! Of COURSE I would still recommend this to a friend, but I'd say be careful of the sizing ~ that's why I sent this review.
