"Elegance, luxury and good taste never go out of style," Kenneth Jay Lane.

About Kenneth Jay Lane

His fabulous costume jewellery has caught the eye of the world's most glamorous women for over four decades, including Jackie Onassis Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Vreeland and Audrey Hepburn. Moreover, his pieces are now as sought-after and as collectable as precious gems, with his vintage pieces selling at Christies and Sotheby's.

Michigan-born Lane graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1954 and moved to New York for a stint as a Vogue art director. This whet his appetite for fashion and made him realize that he wanted to design and create the products he saw around him.

Before long his collections were being snapped up by hot boutiques across Manhattan, as well as by royalty and movie stars. He was proving that costume jewelry could be as beautiful as the "real thing."

As impressive as it is that royalty, celebrities, and socialites choose Lane's jewellery it is not his primary focus. The designer's creations are inspired with the everyday woman in mind. However you choose to wear each piece it will be equally wear-able today as it will be in seasons to come. Lane himself has said,

" I like to create jewellery that can be worn any time of the year, by any woman. Glamour is all year round."

Innovative, gifted and imaginative. Kenneth Jay Lane's exceptional skill ensures him a permanent place in fashion history (and in every woman's collection).

"Elegance, luxury and good taste never go out of style," Kenneth Jay Lane - and he should know.

Kenneth Jay Lane

"Elegance, good taste, and luxury never go out of style," says Kenneth Jay Lane, whose glamorous jewelry has made him the king of costume couture. From statement necklaces to eye-catching earrings, cabochon rings and chunky bracelets, Lane's elegant baubles are beloved by Hollywood and Park Avenue alike. Originally a shoe designer for Dior and other exclusive fashion houses, Lane was a mainstay of 1960s high society and a personal friend of Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, and Jackie Onassis. For decades his tasteful but fun designs have adorned the world's most stylish women, including Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and Madonna (fun fact: former First Lady Barbara Bush famously wore a three-strand faux pearl Kenneth Jay Lane necklace to her husband's inaugural ball). In addition to his main jewelry line, Lane creates belts, eyewear, and the cubic zirconia collection CZ by Kenneth Jay Lane. Many of his vintage pieces are collectibles sold at auction by Christie's and Sotheby's.
