These PowerVivid PAR type LED lamps have solid performance, twice the light output of previous CC Vivid bulbs, and come with a 3 year warranty. The light output may be too bright for use in a kitchen with an 8' ceiling unless you require a lot of light, so this bulb is best used in 10-12' ceilings. It uses the same technology as found in the vast majority of good LED lamp manufacturers. Since the light output is focused in one direction they are quite acceptable as a replacement for common bulb size/wattages.
The bulbs packaging is under Glacial brand. Glacial bulbs have an "ETL" listing which is very similar to a UL listing and is considered equivalent. All lenses are frosted for light dispersion, and Power Factor (efficiency) is about 90. The BR30 and BR40 have a protection circuit that takes about one second to charge up before the light comes on. They do not work with a dimmer.
