Problem with Rabbit Fur
from Huron County
I purchased a pair of tall crepe sole mukluks last year. As I have several pairs of Manitoba Mukluks and this pair had crepe soles I wore them infrequently and usually indoors. I found the boots to be warm, beautiful to look at and very comfortable. I take VERY GOOD care of my footware and followed the care instructions very carefully.I wore the boots to a Boxing Day dinner and had quite a few positive remarks. However, one person said how beautiful they were but pointed out that there was a bold spot on the left boot - was it possible to get get the fur repaired?I immediately pulled the left boot off and she was right there was an area on the left inside of the boot that looked like it had been clipped off. I groom my own dogs so I know difference between fur being worn and fur being mechanically removed. The outer lines were too straight to be a wear patch problem. I had not noticed the spot because the boots slouch, as is the style. Consequently, when looking down you will not see the area in question. As the boots were over the 90 day warranty period I contacted Manitoba directly and explained my concerns and why I believe I had not noticed the problem before. They were excellent in getting back to me and requested that I send them pictures of the boot and a copy of the sales receipt. I did both immediately.I received my response yesterday. They suggested that the problem may have been caused by wear as they recommended that the boots should not be allowed to slouch as this causes wearing on the rabbit fur. Well, why only one boot then as they both slouch and if one boot was rubbing against the other then would it not be logical that both boots would have the wear problem in the same place? I have other rabbit fur products from Manitoba Mukluks and other brands that slouch and this has not happened with those products .... so?They could fix them but that would be a costly endeavour for me - in the range of $100 +/- depending on one boot or two, taxes and shipping. Girls, if you are purchasing a rabbit fur product from this company check them very carefully. I do not believe that I am the only one that has had a problem with the fur and humm - wear? These products are not made in Canada and therefore not subject to our stringent quality control in processing of the fur or construction of the product. As for me, I will keep the boots and see if I can find someone in the local community who can repair the problem. If not, then I guess Google will be my best friend and I will see if I can find instructions how to repair fur online.I hope this review is helpful.Yes the boots are beautiful, warm and comfortable but the quality control on certain items, in my opinion, is lacking. I have been a good supporter of this company and own quite a few pairs of their boots and moccasins. However, in future, I will have to think very carefully about purchasing ANY of their products with rabbit fur.:-(

I purchased my boots directly from the company and received my boots in 4 days a far shorter time than from TSC. Everything seems to take longer here in BC and I did not want to wait 2 weeks. The quality is terrific and they are warm but I wear mine in the house as slippers in my sewing room as the floor is cold. They are so nice I find it hard to even think about wearing them in the snow and winter weather outside. They are very comfortable and I purchased my regular size because I wanted to wear heavy socks and the fit is perfect for me. If I could change one thing I wish this style in the suede came without the rabbit fur-my only criticism about the boots other than that they are perfect

These are a Dream!
I am a true size 7 medium width and 17" calf. I bought the Black in Size 6 and they are a perfect fit. These boots are so very comfortable. We have had +10 to -25 degrees days over the last 4 weeks and these boots were very comfortable in all temperatures. I have had many compliments too. Love love love these boots.

I just love these boots! So comfortable, like slippers as another reviewer said & no socks required as they are toasty, cuddly warm without being too, too warm. I am normally a size 10 shoe & as Waneek instructed I bought down one size & they fit perfectly. I got them in black, subtle & nice shiny fur & they go nicely with both of my winter parkas. Very, very happy with these boots. Don't know why anyone would buy that Australian boot when you can proudly wear a traditional Native Canadian boot!
GREAT BOOTS, COMFORTABLE AS SLIPPERS!
from Wallaceburg, ON
I just ordered these, I am a plus size lady and a size 8 or 9 in shoes/boots. I in fact made it a point to order the size 9 boot, due to me being a plus size lady. Glad I did, they fit perfectly and are a fairly tall boot! This is my 2nd pair of these type of boots, in fact have a pair from over 8 yrs ago, they still look like new and get tons of compliments and questions on them. Very comfortable to wear, feet stay warm even with NO socks, toasty as can be. Ordered many products from this line, worth every $$$ spent, they last for YEARS!
Beautiful boot, bad sizing
from Yorkton, SK
I'm giving this 5 stars even though I am disappointed. I ordered 2 pair (sizes 5 & 6), 1 for myself, the other a gift. I downsized both pair as was recommended but when they arrived I was very disappointed. The size 5 which was going to be my Mukluk was way too small & the gift Mukluk size 6 was also too small, my toe was at the very end of the boot. I was wanting to replace them both in larger sizes but TSC didn't have them in the same colour so I've had to return them both. Not happy I'll be charged the return shipping charges since it was not my fault, I wasn't even able to have them back-ordered/raincheck because they didn't know when they'd be getting more in. Low'n'behold, they are on the schedule Nov 3-9'14 so now I'm really disappointed since had I have waited I could probably have had them both replaced for the proper sizes & colour I wanted. :(Lesson learned: don't downsize, go with what you wear, if 1/2 size then go up not down.
Still Stunning! Update review sizing.
Update to the sizing issue. I know she said go down but I've worn my size 7 around the house & my toe on right foot is literally at the tip of boot. It's rubbing & I have to say I think I should've kept my size 8. I feel if I were to wear 4/6 mths I may have a hole in the tip of boot. They are still stunning & cozy & craftsmanship is great. Sadly there is NO 8 in the birch color left.I will order another Mukluk boot but in my size 8. It just really hurts my toe too much.

First purchase from this line. I saw the birch color & had to have them. I did order down a size like suggested, but they feel a bit short although wide enough. I guess if I went with my usual size it would be too big. They are more a very light greyish tone and white fur. Good height at calf. Very cozy inside & the sole will be great for walking out & about.I do wish they didn't use a SHOE STRING with pom poms. I also noticed while walking in my house the pompoms came undone a lot. hopefully a tighter knot will fix that. Biggest dislike is on the box says it's made in VIETNAM. Proudly Canadian??
WARM AND COZY
These are about the coziest boots I've ever had. They didn't have any size 5 left so went for a 6 and they are fine with extra socks. I got frostbite in one foot this winter and for the longest time afterward these were the only boots I could wear with any comfort. I do wish they had something with a slightly smaller leg shaft but I understand that this style is the smallest they make. Love this product line. I have their moccasins in 3 different styles but this is the first pair of mukluks.

These boots are great, I find them warmer then any of my other pricey boots. The styling is great. Love!
