Recommend with full disclosure

I bought this for my disabled son as well. I had problems with the delivery - and with a fuse as well. We live in Vancouver so it was easy to get a fuse, but the bike stopped running miles from home and my son had to peddle home. Not easy for a disabled person. More information about the fuse problem should be addressed by the company before the bike is sent out. Vancouver electric recommended that we replace the fuse with a ceramic not glass fuse. We did that. A box of 4 was $9. They should do that at the location in Ontario, and rather than have the weird helmut or dollar store plastic rain poncho add more tools, and instructions and fuses. That all said my son loves his bike, hopefully we don't have any more problems, and the problems would not have been solved as easily had we not bought it from the Shopping Channel and complained to TSC and the company both. I don't think I would buy this directly from the company without the support of TSC. I think TSC might want to source out alternative more reliable vendors too. With reservation I would recommend it to a friend, and my older son would love to get a similar bike.

Monaco Bike

The bike was purchased for a disabled person to be able to ride to a near by village (10KM) Bike only ran for 1 day and on second day stopped. After much frustration, it was finally discovered that a fuse exists INSIDE the battery pak. We had to open the pack and replace the fuse. We had to drive over 50KM to find a suitable fuse. WONDER WHY A SPARE FUSE IS NOT PROVIDED ??

Also the left hand mirrow is loose. Looks like a lock washer was not assembled. In trying to tighten up the mirror assembly, the screw may have been stripped because of poor quality metal,

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
