Love this phone!
from Toronto, Ontario
I am extremely happy with this phone. I had an old phone where texting was awkward on a pull-out keyboard and it was generally inefficient. This one, although only an entry-level Windows phone, is so much better. I feel I have joined this century as far as cell phones go. I didn't find the set-up too difficult although I talked to Rogers about a few issues at the beginning and they were helpful. They set up the same phone number I already had, along with voice mail, and I'm using it happily. The $40 pay-as-you-go coupon made a big difference to the value. Unlike other reviewers I understood the 30 day expiry, but as long as you add money to the account the time continues on. You need to take time to understand how pay-as-you-go works. I usually add $100 and that lasts 12 months. I'm very glad I bought this phone.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not what I needed
I thought that this was a good deal. But I realized that this prod. was not for me. I AM NOT A TECHY.I just needed a phone for emergency, not textting & all the other bells & whistles. I did not even activate it after reading all & I mean all the literature that came with it. Just not the phone for me, so I returned it. I am not saying that this is not a good phone, just that it is not for me.

VERY DIFFICULT TO SET UP
By Carrie, the whistleblower

It looked easy when shown. However, I have had a lot of problems setting it up. I have charged the battery but it does not last. I would really like to keep this phone but it seems that I will have to return it. When I first received the phone I called and spoke to one of Rogers' staff. At first she was "impatient" and by being polite to her she calmed down and answered my questions. (They must have received a lot of calls from irate callers). But I cannot get the phone to work (e.g. calling from another phone to the smart phone); it does not come with a micro SD card and I inserted one from another TSC product. Why does not the battery stay charged for the 14.5 hours? I have turned it off, so why doesn't it stay charged instead of discharging within an hour or so? I also chose a blue cover but I cannot get those little black plugs to stay put. (I wanted to change from the black). I hope Rogers read these comments (they run TSC) and do something. I would really like to keep this and I am wondering if I go to a Rogers store in Vancouver if they would be able to help me? Can someone please help? Thanks.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I read some of the low rated comments and have a few points. You can keep your same phone number by using the SIM card in your old phone. The $40.00 was used to top up my account and like all other monthly top ups it does expire in 30 days. The $40.00 was used on my old phone number. The set up for phone and text use is not difficult if you follow the steps in the start guide. As for other uses it is more complicated to set up but can be done it just takes some time. The screen is exactly as appeared on TV and online...it is a 4 inch screen and I find it easy to see and to use. I am sorry the other purchasers did not have a good experience.

I received this phone almost 2 weeks ago. It is a great buy, lots of bonuses, easy to use, I am new to windows but I have not had any problem. You can't go wrong, a smart looking phone without the contract.

This is advertised as Pay as you go, nowhere was it mentioned that you will loose what ever is left in the account after 30 days, when I registered the phone today and read the 40$ voucher nowhere is it mentioned that you loose them after 30 days, I only learned of this after I went in fill up you're phone, to see what my options are. Also when you register you are supposed to leave you're Birthdate and credit card information, I never filled that in they do not need to know that info. I called customer service, not very helpful, the one girl thought it was funny for me being upset about loosing my credits after 1 month found out you can't cancel you're registration on weekends, you can open an account and pay, but not cancel and to get that info you get the run around on the phone, 4 different people, because there is no menu option for cancellation and the last person just hung up on me. I have not tried this phone yet, so I can't comment on the phone, but pay as you go is misleading and in my eyes a lie. I am a person that sends a text message once in a blue moon, I maybe place 2 phone calls a week on my cell, I don't shop, twitter face book etc. so a plan is totally a waste of money for me, after a 3 year plan with Rogers for my other phone I am fed up. If I can't cancel this registration and send the phone back I will also call TSC customer service and complain and I might call consumers complaints at a local TV station. I am not happy and I feel like I was lied to .
