This solar lamp post allows you to create a pop of decorative light anywhere outside your home. And because it is powered by solar energy, it won't cost you a dime to run. Solar power collects and converts energy from the sun; to charge the LED lights, simply place the lamp outdoors in a location where the solar panels will receive direct sunlight for about 10-12 hours. Then at night, an automatic sensor will activate the lights and, voilà!

The lamp features six white LED lights and three amber LED lights in the head, so you can choose the type of light you want to create the perfect ambiance for any occasion. The lamp post comes with a plastic planter at the base, and the removable plant hanger at the top is perfect for all kinds of decorating options. It's also portable, so you can put it anywhere you please and leave it out all year long.

Why should the interior of your home get all the attention? The Shopping Channel is proud to offer this fantastic outdoor essential, which is only available here, for a terrific value you don't want to pass up!

Looks nice but planter base awful

By Jude

Bronze Reviewer

Bought 2 of these for my riverrock gardens. Base is cheaply made & difficult to assemble. I had to keep twisting into place. takes 3 people( two to twist the basket & one to hold the post steady), Filled with rock before the soil to ensure would not topple over. Once assembled and filled with plants it looks great. Light is nice in the evening. Because of assembley issues I rated it accordingly

Pipe in the Pole!

By MAG from NB

Very nice looking but overall very cheaply made. We put a pole inside the aluminum one to reinforce it. The piece of metal to attach the pole to the base is very flimsy. The basket is way too cheap but my husband bolted it to a patio stone so hopefully it'll stay standing. I was pleased to hear some people did hang baskets from the two extending arms and they held as they too are very cheap and with rain would make the pots very heavy. Oh well, it looks fine so we'll see how long it lasts. Wasn't a cheap 'delivered' price by any means after shipping & taxes.

For show only

By Milhouse

from Milhouse

The lamp itself is good looking but is a show piece only. The pot is a piece of junk. Every time we had a good wind the top fell down .I should have sent it back but I screwed to top to to bottom

light inthe dark

Not as easy to assemble but triumphed in the end! The base pot is not as classy but with plants in is OK Has not been tested in the high winds yet.Had several good comments from condo neighbours and am very pleased with the effects both day and night so will recommend it with above reservations.

Beautiful Solar Lamp Post

By Diamond Girl

from Calgary AB

Silver Reviewer

Since our Calgary weather remained miserable for several early Spring weeks, I did not put the lamp post up until 2 weeks ago. After reading the reviews I decided we should put it into the ground at the corner of a large deck that has a previous TSC lamp from 6 years ago on the other edge. My husband decided to use some quick dry cement in the hole so it will not move. I like that there is a height difference with the lamp screwed onto the deck. Love that I can hang two flower baskets on this one. It looks wonderful!

Thanks for the information

Well after reading all the comments I decided to order the lamp. I was a little afraid my husband would make me send it back but he unpacked it and put it together. The lamp is gorgeous but the base is a piece of cheap plastic. It kept coming apart so my husband hot glued it so it would stay together. Well it did and we filled it with flowers and I hung 2 x 12 in flower baskets and it looks beautiful I get a lot of compliments on it. My back yard is like a tornado when it is windy but it hasn't tipped over at all. I love the look of it and I would recommend it to others but I again would tell them about the base.. thanks Shopping Chanel

I really like the way my backyard looks with these planters on each side of my deck. I purchased two (2) when they were the SHOWSTOPPER. I found assembling these were not as "easy" as what was said, and it took me quite a while to finally have the final product together. I filled the base with heavy loam and sand, along with two hanging plants/flowers on each, and they have withstood some seriously high winds we've had out west lately. I really like that I can turn the lights to a "white" or "amber" or "off" positions. I do prefer the amber the best. I have to admit, I really do like this product, and I am hoping they last for years to come.

Nice but light doesn't work

By Gwen

from Aurora Ontario

I bought this when it was the show stopper last time. We put it together and filled it with about 40 lbs. of stones to keep it stable. It looks very nice with my hanging baskets but the lights do not work. They came on when it was first assembled then that was it. I couldn't send it back as I through out the box. I agree the pot that it stands in is rather flimsy.

A weighted base is the key

By Sue

I just set ours up this weekend. I purchased 2 lamp posts and set up was very easy. The instructions clearly state that a minimum of 40 lbs should be put in the base to prevent tipping. I used several bricks (as many as it would hold) and filled it in with Spanish moss and a Boston fern plant. I watched the presentation when it was the showstopper and it really wasn't mentioned about the amount of weight needed for safety. Perhaps too much emphasis was put on the fact you can move it around- believe me with a ton of bricks in the base I won't be moving mine now. No wires is great but common sense says to make sure it won't tip over in windy weather. It has been an expensive lesson for some buyers so I would recommend a slight change in the presentation of this product.

Lovely but problematic....

By Doogiegirl

from Metro Vancouver

I loved this product when I saw it on the shopping channel and was really delighted when I received it as a gift for some work I did....

However, when I tried to put it together it was anything but easy once I got to the base. The instructions are lacking in both direction and pictures.

The lamp portion had already been put together and had a rattling screw inside but I wasn't able to open it. I spent quite a bit of time going up the phone ladder to finally get somebody that understood that I did not want to repack the entire lamp now that it was all out of the package. I explained only the lamp was broken and obviously sent to me already inferior.

I'm still waiting to receive this new lamp after a few weeks!

I have the light post in my backyard with the non working lamp all put together with river rocks filled almost to the top of the base, flowers on top and two hanging baskets. It looks lovely but I am very concerned about everything I've read with respect to windy days which we do get here on the west coast.....time will tell.
