I've been using this for about a week now and I can understand some of the frustrations with it based on the reviews I've read. However, I should point out that it all depends on how well you use the fusion styler. I have long straight hair and I've been using it to create some really nice curls and it's all about technique. It's difficult to describe in writing how to get a curl but I'm sure there are some videos online. The best way I could describe on how to create the curls is by somewhat using the same technique as using a hair straightner to curl your hair. Most of the time, my hair just glides through the fusion styler to create the curl but I'll be honest, I've also gotten it suck. But like I said, it's all about technique. My mother has short hair and she just mostly uses it as a comb to remove those unsightly pumps and just creates a cute flip towards the end. I've tried showing her to create the curls but she still can't get it. It just takes practice.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not for curling straight hair
This product actually made my short straight hair straighter. It does not get warm enough to produce a curl. I can see how it would soften and straighten naturally curly hair but for my purposes, it was useless. Sending it back.

I had hoped for great results from this curler...ever been had as they say......I have fine slightly thinning short ish hair and I could not get it to curl with this item maybe the barrel was too big.....no matter how I tried the thing just would not work for me..disappointed and out of pocket....I went back to my old curling brush and it still works well...silly me for trying to fix what was not broken lol

I have long, naturally curly and very fine hair. Pretty much nothing works for me, or is too difficult to work. This did not tire out my arm. It takes a few passes to get my hair to go straight, or a nice curl, but it does, and it stays that way for quite some time. Other product have straightened my hair, or put a nice curl in it, only to disappear as soon as I brushed. This did not do that. The first product that actually works.

I do not use this very much, but I do like it. I paid $79.99 at TSC and when I ordered for the my daughter it went up to $99.99 and now down to 89.99. I do not like this pricing practice that the reason I am giving 2 stars.

Only a so-so product.

I returned this after using it a couple of times. I really wanted to like it but for the money I didn't think it was that great. It didn't really work any better than any of the other styling tools I have that were much cheaper. If I am paying the price, I want fabulous results. We should all expect nothing less.

Maybe its me!
not sure that this product is worth the money to be honest,I have gone back to my old curling iron, maybe better on shorter hair? maybe I am not using it properly.
Works for me!

I saw the perfecter on an infomercial and was intrigued. I researched it and shopped around and found that TSC had the best price. My hair is short, fine, and straight. I used to have to use a lot of product to get body in my hair, but now, with the perfecter, I just wash my hair, blow dry it, use the perfecter, and go! The style lasts into the second day. I find that I don't have to wash my hair as often, and I save money by not having to use styling products. Highly recommended

I wouldn't be able to give an honest opinion of the Perfecter Fusion Styler. The first day I used it, it seemed to work well. When I went to use it the second day it wouldn't heat up so I returned it. Thought about an exchange but didn't want to take the chance of getting another that didn't work.

My new favourite product
from Kitchener, ON
I purchased this styler about a month ago when it was on sale. My hair is almost shoulder length, wavy and tends to be frizzy when dry, and I have tried using a straightener that would dry out my hair and frizz it even more. Even though I do prefer a straighter look, this styler does make my hair smoother and I now actually like the gentle wave it provides. My hairdresser even asked me what I had been doing - no more puffy frizz! Learning to love my hair again!
