More About Egyptian Cotton
Egyptian cotton is used to create bedding of all types, from sheets to pillowcases to comforters. The long staple or long fiber of Egyptian-grown cotton means that there is more continuous fiber to use when creating threads or yarns. This yarn is smaller in diameter yet stronger than other cottons. Smaller yarn means that more threads per square inch can be use to create stronger fabric which is light in weight yet breathes well.
More threads per inch mean that the thread count on the bedding label will be higher. Many buyers think that choosing high thread count sheets is the only gauge of quality. This is not true, but in the case of cotton grown in Egypt, the higher thread count means the fabric will be incredibly strong and will last for years and years. If cared for properly, Egyptian produced cotton fabric used for creating bedding products can last for decades.
However, with every single laundering, the cotton sheets from Egyptian fibers become softer and softer. Like a fine wine, age improves the Egyptian fiber cotton bedding and, unlike many products, you will prize your Egyptian fiber sheets of cotton more and more as they age and become soft and cuddly. Cotton grown in the Egyptian fields will also produce less lint and therefore will not pill after repeated washings.
Egyptian remains King of the cotton world today and will retain that crown for many years into the future.

This cover set is not for decoration but for funtionality. In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, this is how all the nicest hotels to the quaintest inns make their beds. Instead of having top and bottom sheets and nasty bedspreads, a queen size bed would have two sheet covered duvets. It's clean and cozy and no fighting for covers. We loved this so much that we changed our bedding at home. I bought a warmer duvet for myself and a lighter one for my husband. This product is a great price and the Egyptian cotton is so much cooler, softer and silkier. The pillow sham would be used as a normal pillow case, but finished in a way that the ugly pillow beneath doesn't pop out the end.

SIZING INCORRECT: I bought this specifically because the website says the Queen is 86" x 90", which is exactly the size of my new duvet. When it arrived the sizing information on the back of the package says the Queen size is 88" x 88".COLOUR DESCRIPTION INCORRECT: It is a tone on tone stripe - the fabric is woven in such a way to create a striped appearance. Not unpleasant, but should be mentioned in the product description.QUALITY: I have not actually unfolded it from it's original packaging yet, but I can already see a few flaws in the fabric, including discoloured threads woven into the white fabric by accident, and some snags. the stitching isn't top notch either. I am also afraid it will shrink, so I will likely only line dry it. The fabric is quite thin. As sheets, this fabric wouldn't last very long before it ripped. But as a duvet cover I think it will add to the lightness and breathability of my duvet. This is a personal preference though. VALUE FOR DOLLAR: Well, you get what you pay for. It is pretty much what I expected for this price. I searched for quite a while online for an oversized duvet cover (which this still is, even if it's not 90" as advertised), and this was by far the best price I found for 100% cotton oversized queen.BOTTOM LINE: If you have an oversized duvet and are only buying a duvet cover to protect the duvet, this is still a better value than anything else I've found at this price point. I bought a 100% silk filled and cotton encased duvet for the breathability and temperature control, and to put a cheap polyester cover on it would ruin the benefits I bought the silk duvet for. In this case, the thin fabric of the duvet cover will just help my duvet breathe, so I'm happy.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

AVOID THIS PRODUCT LIKE THE PLAGUE

This Seasons Collection - Diamond Collection 3 Piece Duvet Cover Set is one very cheap and extremely ugly looking product! With poor performance. I ordered the black and what I got was black with black stripes which was not mentioned in the details or shown in the web photo image. The duvet looked and felt like bed sheets. The shams were even worse. They looked like king size pillow cases with a standard pillow drowning in them. You even put your pillow into the sham like you would normally put a pillow in a pillow case from the side. The borders of the sham looks like nothing in the depicted photo. They don't stand up along the edges they just flop over the pillow. The queen size measuring chart is also off. You get a slightly smaller dimension accordingly to the package and the web details. Picking black was a poor choice for this Diamond Collection 3 Piece Duvet Cover Set because it picks up every bit of fluff and sticks to it. Especially if you have white sheets.I had to double check to make sure I got the right product and I did. Item returned immediatly!

Great price for a great duvet cover. Very soft fabric. I bought the chocolate color and it is a rich beautiful color. I think it's a great value.
