This museum quality 1881 Dominion Bank $5 note is one of the rarest and highest quality early Canadian bank notes to have survived. It is an original uncirculated set of face and back printer's proofs which would not normally be available for private collectors to obtain. The face design features a girl with a sheaf of wheat and two seated allegorical women, while the back design is composed of lathework, counters and the bank name.

The Dominion Bank operated from 1869 to 1955, when it merged with the Bank of Toronto to for the TD Bank. At the time of the merger, the Dominion bank had 194 branches and assets of $538 million.
