From the Archives of the Bank of Canada: When the "bird series" bank notes were introduced from 1986 to 1991, the Bank of Canada kept in its archives the first 1000 notes ever printed of each denomination. These notes all have the very first serial number prefix used for the denomination and are numbered from 0000001 to 0001000.
Notes included:
• $5 1986 prefix ANA / $5 1986 prefix ENA
• $10 1989 prefix ADA / $20 1991 prefix AIA
• $20 1991 prefix EIA / $50 1988 prefix EHP
• $100 1988 prefix AJN
• Rarity: Each set is one of less than 1000 sets in existence, including sets retained by the Bank of Canada for the National Currency Collection
• Each note is presented in a professional display holder
