This 2012 $4 Dollar coin features an image of Major General Sir Isaac Brock against an engraved background with the words "The War of 1812" in both English and French. In the design is the engraved and painted Government of Canada War of 1812 logo: composed of stylistic 1812 typography  encompassed by a stylized maple leaf with ecru swords crossing behind it. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is the first coin in the "Heroes of the War of 1812" series.

Sir Isaac Brock was born at St Peter Port on the Channel Island of Guernsey, the eighth son of John Brock (1729-1777), a midshipman in the Royal Navy, and Elizabeth de Lisle, daughter of Daniel de Lisle, then Lieutenant-Bailiff of Guernsey. Brock was assigned to Canada in 1802. He was promoted to major general, and became responsible for defending Upper Canada. Brock's actions, particularly his success at Detroit, earned him a knighthood, membership in the Order of the Bath, accolades and the sobriquet "The Hero of Upper Canada".

Bonus Coins: Also included is a coloured Brock 25 cent and a classic Brock 25 cent coin.
