This extremely high grade set includes a pre-decimal gem uncirculated 1951 farthing, a 1952 half penny, 1967 half penny and 1967 penny coins of the United Kingdom. All coins come presented in professional coin holders.

For centuries Great Britain used a complicated monetary system comprised of multiple denominations of farthings, pence, shillings and pounds. While Canada abandoned this system in favour of a much simpler decimal currency system in 1858, the United Kingdom did not adopt this change until 1968. Although many collectors hoarded the first issue of new pence coinage, very few people saved the last of the old currency in original brilliant uncirculated condition. This four piece set includes some of the best surviving gem uncirculated examples of the pre-decimal last penny and half penny coins struck in 1967, plus scarce gem uncirculated examples of the King George VI farthing issued in 1951 and half penny issued in 1952.
