This is a collection of half dollars issued in Canada from 1870 through to 2013. This collection is complete from 1929-2013, and includes all dates of issue other than 1921 from 1906 to 2013. Four different scarce coins from the reign of Queen Victoria are included, starting with the first Canadian half dollar ever issued, dated 1870. Other low mintage key dates include 1908, 1909, 1911, 1912, 1914, 1931, 1932, 1934, 1936, 1947 Maple Leaf, and 1948. Three different major types of 1947 coin are included. The Queen Victoria, King Edward and George V coins are in good to excellent collectable condition, while the quality of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth coins ranges from Extremely fine to choice uncirculated. The collection comes displayed in two high quality mahogany grained presentation cases.

Rarities included: Within all denomination in the entire 20th and 21st centuries, there have been only 15 coins with a mintage below 100,000, and only nine coins struck with a mintage below 50,000. This set includes 6 coins with a mintage below 100,000, with 5 of these having a mintage below 50,000. The 1932 half dollar is the rarest coin in this collection. With an original mintage of just 19,213 pieces, this is Canada's second lowest mintage coin ever, just 433 pieces higher than the 1948 silver dollar, and about half the mintage of the rare 1948 half dollar, which is also included. Because the 1932 coin circulated much more widely than the 1948 dollar coin, surviving examples are actually much rarer than the ultra rare 1948 silver dollar.
• Note: Prior to 1936 half dollars were not struck in all years. No half dollars were issued in a number of Victorian era year, nor in 1915 or from 1922-1928.
