This collection includes two original mints rolls (100 coins total) of Canada's scarce last one cent coins, one roll in copper plated zinc (non-magnetic), plus one rolls in struck in copper plated steel (magnetic). The rolls include a special collector last issue wrap.

After a 154 year history, Canada's one cent coin was officially discontinued on May 4, 2012. While 2012 mintage figures will not be released until the spring of 2013, these coins are nearly impossible to find in change, reminiscent of the rare 1991 quarter (which now sells for about $500 per roll). These coins are expected to be the lowest mintage in many decades.

To make this issue even more interesting, two distinctly different types of coins were produced during the short production run. The first coins were produced using magnetic copper plated multiply steel blanks, while coins produced after this first run were struck using non-magnetic copper plated zinc blanks. While both varieties appear to be scarce, the copper plated steel coins appear to be the most difficult to obtain.
