This is a premium limited edition presentation of the Year of the Rooster silver coin and stamps issued in 2005. While a total of about 45,000 Chinese lunar coins were produced in this year, only 8,000 of these were presented in the premium limited edition presentation including the Year of the Rooster postage stamps from Canada Post.

The coin is a $15 denomination, weighing just over one ounce of sterling silver, or about an ounce of pure silver. The design features a 24 karat selective gold plated rooster in the centre, with all twelve Chinese lunar symbol animals around the outside of the coin. This series has been extremely popular, with several coins significantly appreciating in value in the secondary market.

People born in the years 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005 are all "Year of the Rooster". Rooster year people are deep thinkers, capable and talented. They are brave, romantic, motivated and proud.
