In 2007, the Royal Canadian Mint released the largest legal tender coin in the world. This five piece set includes .99999 fine gold coins featuring the same design as on the million dollar coin, in denominations of $50 (1 ounce), $10 (1/4 ounce), $5 (1/10 ounce), $1 (1/20 ounce), and $.50 (1/25 ounce). The coins come encapsulated and presented in a Canadian maple wood case. In addition to the fact that these coins are struck in pure gold with an attractive and interesting design, the most important reason for collectors to acquire this item may be the extremely low mintage. With a total mintage of only 750 sets, this collection includes five of the lowest mintage coins ever struck in Canada.
