Thermotex Gold Therapy System

I purchased my Thermotex Therapy "Platinum" System over 2 years ago for a much higher price. The "Platinum" system has 3 disks instead of one. The pros totally outweigh the cons.
I have 2 ruptured disks, a fractured tailbone and sciatica on both sides. Surgery will repair the damage. Narcotics and muscle relaxers are medications I'd rather not take. I used it twice a day, first thing before I do my exercises given to me by my physiotherapist and at least for 30 minutes at night. Yes it is hard but you don't need to put pressure on the pads for it to work. The heat is "infrared" not like the average style heating pad. This thermal heat penetrates and can remain for hours.
If you find it too hot, put a towel over the pad to absorb some of the heat. I've used mine in my car, sitting on the couch or while lying in bed with my legs raised on a knee wedge (great time to do some deep breathing by the way).

I have chronic back pain and am waiting for an MRI, bought this product and it gives me so much relief I get extreme pain and spasms.

Bought one for my son also as he has a bad back and it is a wonderful product.

Would not want to be without it.

First have to explain that I purchased the Thermotex "Platinum" pad about 4 years ago. The Gold is one big pad but Platinum has 3 pieces inside the pad so therefore makes the pad flexible. It literally gave me my life back so I went ahead and purchased a second one to make sure I was never without one. I get recurring back spasms and would be laid up for days in agony - until I purchased the Thermotex Platinum! Meds didn't help and had bad side effects. To my huge relief I found out that sitting back comfortably on the Platinum pad for a couple of hours would finally release the spasms and pain. I now make sure that anytime I sit down to watch TV etc. I sit on the pad as it helps to prevent a flare up. I recently ordered this Gold pad for my husband. I tried it and I agree it is a little hard for me as I don't have a lot of meat on my bones. For anyone who is thin or not muscular they would find the Platinum much more comfortable. I start on high setting and then after 10 minutes it does get very warm so I reduce it to low. Sometimes if I want to get ontop of the pain faster I will continue to alternate back and forth from Hi to Low. Although I like the Platinum better myself I have nothing but good to say about Thermotex products! I have used one of my pads so much that after 4 years I wore out the covering and I find the customer service in Calgary is excellent!! If this was the Platinum pad it would get 5 stars instead of 4.

I tried thermotex for a few times, and at first I felt some relief. The more I used it though,I found it just way too hard and uncomfortable, and unable to tolerate the high setting as it got way too intense. Why keep something that causes more discomfort with little gain.

Use for my lower back, shoulder blades, back of legs.
Used for 2 days twice a day, and good results so far.
I also agree with other comment, that it is too hard/stiff a surface for tired/achy muscles.

The pad gets really HOT even on low setting and it's very uncomfortable. It's also too hard on the back and butox. It's too expensive for all the frustration I went through and it did not relieve my pain. I returned it and NO I would not recommend it to my friends. TSC, you have a very disappointed customer.

If you have pain and muscle spasms you know who you are and need this to relieve your pain. Great for lower back, mid back. I purchased two I sit on one for back legs and the gold for my back. I use all night, although its says to use it for 10 min. on high and about 30 on low. I turn it off a little while and turn it back on. It seems that I can get up easier. This is worth the buy. The gentleman on air does not lie.! I don't know how to use it for the neck but I will keep watching on TSC. Thank you.
