I just received this item. It took me over an hour to assemble this unit. I can't believe how badly this is made. Its going right back... It took me as long to disassemble and try to pack it up. Let me tell you, it was a high pain taking it back to the post office. Now I loose $25 for sending it back I am so very disappointed.

Hopeful but disappointed
The front monitor never worked from the beginning, but I was hoping to at least, get a good exercise. The assembly was easy, and I liked the workouts. Due to the knee pain, I worked out only once a week about 10 minutes in each session. However, after using it for only 2 months, the machine became out of balance, started to make lots of noises, and very soon the wire (cable wire?) at the back broke off. I could not use it anymore, but never returned back (just to difficult). I think Tony need to do something about that part of the machine, because with that quality, it ought to break sooner or later.

Will melt the fat right off you!!!
I bought this years ago from TSC...I think 2004 maybe. I had an issue with a wrong part when it arrived but TSC was awesome and I shipped it back with Purolator, I had no hassles and I got the replacement part pretty soon after that. Wasn't difficult to assemble. I put it in front of the TV and went on it about an hour a day while watching TV, didn't think it was doing anything to be honest because it didn't feel like I was working out - back then I actually thought it was a scam after I used it a few times because I wasn't feeling completely out of breath, sweating excessively and feeling like 'no pain no gain' kind of feeling while I was using it, but it was fun to use so I used it anyways, then 3 months later all of a sudden people started commenting on the weight loss...I weighed myself and found out I had lost 40 pounds. no joke. I hadn't weighed myself up to that point because I hadn't noticed the weight loss and didn't think there was anyway I was losing weight with that machine, plus I was eating normal - no dieting. I was at 180lbs (5'4") back then, I remember, because I went down to 140 and it was a huge surprise to me, I was so excited, I told everyone. I think about a dozen of my co-workers bought themselves a gazelle back then when they found out that's what I had been using. It was a huge weight loss for me, the most I ever lost so fast and I know it had to have boosted my metabolism because after that even if I didn't use it as frequently, the weight still kept coming off - I had so much energy. It really does work, it's not a gimmick, I promise. Mine didn't squeak (at all) like some others have commented here, but I sold my first one when I moved out west and bought a second hand one here, which squeaked really badly - couldn't hear the TV, so I threw it out. I don't have room in my new place for a new one now but someday I'm going to get myself another gazelle. It's the best piece of equipment I have ever used. If you want to lose weight and you were going to either buy a gym membership or buy the gazelle, I promise - buy the gazelle!!

Good exercise value for the money
Found this unit to be very easy to use; set up wasn't any problem either. Although I don't fold it up, I like having that option available. The moving parts work well, but the computer stopped working a few days into use. Not sure if maybe a wire has come loose (will have to work on figuring that out), however it's not something I am particularly concerned about.

Need stronger wire
I enjoyed using this product but unfortunately, it broke after only one year. The wire (cable wire?) at the back broke. They should use a thicker/stronger wire to carry the weight (and I weigh 150 lbs.). I would recommend it if it was of better quality.
Issue over loud creaking noise
from WHITE ROCK
Got this in Nov, and was really enjoying it until Dec when it started to creak, and got worse as time went on. Just the left side is the issue. As of today am sending it back and will be paying extra delivery to send back and to package it as well as find out who to send it through, gets delivered via Canada Post, not sure they will accept such a large item for return so TSC gave me a lable for Purolator, which is not in my area, an expensive mistake. The Tony Little site had sent me to the manufacturer site and I receive nothing in reponse to them. Re-emailed Tony Little however their suggestion would not work for the area that was the issue. It's a shame, great potential to get a good workout in anytime. At least Tony Little site as well as TSC were prompt in their response to my issue. Personally can not recommend due to expense if there is an issue

I use this product all year . Easier on the knees ,low impact. to the people that say its too heavy .wrong, to the ones that say it moves, wrong, to the ones that say it makes too much noise , dont buy wd40 , buy a proper lubricant for it. Mine doesn't make a sound now, it's perfect. Thank- you Tony! I love ya!

By No longer a TSC or Tony Little fan
from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
I purchased the Tony Little Gazelle over 2 months ago. It is extremely heavy to manage, both in setup and to move about and I am quite strong. It came with a broken monitor and I have been trying ever since to receive a replacement monitor. I contacted the company (U.S.A.) and they said they had nothing to do with the problem (even though they manufacture the product. How can a company that produces a product not have a replacement part??) and that I would need to contact the Shopping Channel. TSC promised to replace the monitor on my first call....weeks, no monitor. Call after call I was told that I would receive an email when the monitor was being sent to me. No email. I have called back and was told that the outlet 'down the street' would be contacted again and a monitor would be sent to me.No monitor, no email. Finally, today, after numerous attempts I was told that I could pack up the Gazelle and send it back because no monitors are available. (What company produces a product with no spare parts????) It was an ordeal to haul it in and set it up in the first place much less try to take it down and return it. The Gazelle looks great on TSC but squeaks loudly intermittently and is cumbersome to fold and move around. The company obviously does not care enough about its customers to follow through on replacement parts, which must be available. All I asked for was a tiny box 6" x 3" rather than a huge almost immovable package! I would not recommend this product to anyone due to the very poor service and lack of responsibility on the part of Tony Little and his company and the poor service from TSC to replace a simple part. How can they think that it would be easier for a customer to return a package of at least 75 lbs rather than a tiny monitor weighing a few ounces?

Loved the quality when I opened the box, it's easy to assemble and easy to use. The pulse monitor is not working on the unit I received and it was too much of a hassle to undo everything and repack to return/exchange. Checked with TSC if only the monitor unit could be replaced, no luck with that.

The Gazelle is a decent cardio workout. I used to run and with the rain and bad knees, I found the machine to maintain a fairly good fitness level as long as you work hard at it. So, good to follow the DVDs which will motivate you to stride longer and use your upper body strength more. However, I have lower back pain now. Not sure if this is associated with the Gazelle. I think you have the potential to overextend when doing the long strides. So, you have to be careful. All in all, I wouldn't use this machine to replace strength training and yoga which I continue to do, but the Gazelle can provide a adequate indoor cardio workout.
