I have severe fibromyalgia and have great difficulty walking, etc. I purchased this machine hoping I could add some activity in my life. It is a great machine for anyone that has chronic pain. However, the machine squeaks so loud, I can't hear the music, etc. The odometer did not work from day 1. This would have been a great machine for me but the quality of the machine is poorly made and constructed.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I had a Gazelle about 10 years ago and it basically wore out after a couple of years....display quit working and some plastic parts broke.I just got this new one a couple of weeks ago so decided to give some feed back.As with any piece of exercise equipment, it is only as effective as the amount of effort put into it. It is definitely low impact and does allow for a pretty good workout.Assembly is not overly difficult, but much easier if you have a helper. It is a hefty piece of equipment and not what I would call "easy to move around" The rollers help, but if you have to go through a door, it is just too wide and requires some fancy maneuvers.Squeaking has been a real issue with this one. The second day I used it the noise was terrible. Spray lubricant did not help, so I ended up taking it apart (not an easy task) I applied a fresh layer of grease to the axle tube assembly and it made a big difference. The next day, further noises sprang up, this time from the pivot points on the foot platforms. Again spray did not help so I took these apart and applied more grease. Be careful with the rear pivot as it is spring loaded (fun to put back together). The spring loaded pivot is designed to hold the foot platforms in the folded position. I found these very hard to clip...the spring is quite strong. I also noted that the tube part of this rear assembly, which is plastic, has already cracked on both sides. This happened on my original and I'm guessing is is partly due to the impact from releasing the spring clip. I have repaired and tried to reinforce this as I don't want the hassle of trying to return such a large item.Overall, it is relatively well constructed, but some of the plastic parts could use an upgrade.I would recommend applying additional lubrication during assembly to all pivot points. Maybe there was a shortage of grease at the factory the day mine was built! As long as your expectations are realistic, this is reasonably priced effective piece of equipment without a lot of gimmicks.

I love my little Gazelle Pro. It was very easy to put together, very easy to use and very quite. I was going to put my Gazelle in my family/tv room, then I realized I never use that room much. So, I found a wonderful empty space, in front of a window in my living room, to put it. It is the perfect place for it as this is the room that I spend the most time in. I use it constantly through out the day, everyday.
Cannot be without my gazelle.

I love using this machine. Gets me going in the morning. Only 4 stars as it does squeak. But I will not part with it. Did not get whatever is used to keep foot pedals up when you want to move it.

Long time user
I bought my gazelle at least 10 years ago. I use it 3 days a week and do weights the other 2 days. I walk on the weekend. I love my Gazelle. No shin splints, which I do get from treadmills. It has kept me trim through menopause and I still enjoy it. I plug into my music and set off for a 20 minute workout. I would recommend it to everyone

I bought this and used it but all it did was to hurt my legs. Did not lose any weight or anything. Not a good product and I am trying to give it away now and no one wants it. NO I would not recommend this to anyone. If I could get my money back,I would.

The Gazelle is Great!
I love my Gazelle! I have had it for a little while now and I am so happy. Bought it the last time it was the showstopper. It is easy to use and I feel great when I use it. My energy level has increased and I think it is because it gives me such a great workout. I also think it is great because it is easy on my joints. If you follow Tony's DVD's you will be sure to get an excellent workout. Thanks Tony for bringing such an excellent exercise machine to us for an affordable price.

Thanks to The Shopping Channel, I used my "Save and Spend" voucher to purchase this item. My husband did have a hard time trying to put everything together because he felt that it lacked detailed instructions. However, he had trouble assembling a tiny mailbox lol, so I didn't take it to heart. I love to walk and need to shed some pounds, but never felt comfortable at a gym. This winter has been brutal as well, and I am definitely not making excuses when the temps dip below with nasty windchills! I get on it, and in no time I have completed 30 minutes of Gazelling. I haven't used the DVDs yet because I felt I haven't needed to yet. So many perks about this machine! Not only does it give a great workout with low impact, but I can use this anytime I want to, don't have to go outside, and engaging all of the muscles when using the handles. I pretend that I'm an Olympic skiier for extra motivation :-)
I have been using this every day since I received it on March 1. It was fairly easy to put together - I just followed the instructions. It is a very sleek design, well built and folds down very easily to a nice compact size - it's not too big, it's just right. It provides an awesome workout and I have zero complaints - LOVE IT!!

Better than expected
from Kelowna BC
Item is quite heavy in the box so would recommend 2 people if this is for someone older or if you have some physical limitationsI did not find the item that hard to put together, i had layed out all items and ensured all parts were accounted for before hand.i had found a video on You Tube and followed that video and so the put together of the glider was ok, just be sure to have the time to put it together.i have used this glider 2+ weeks now and have lost 10lbs with using the gazelle 5/6 x week and used it up to 2 times a day. Time used was anything from 12min to 30min and have not followed the video but watched the news or my fav program. I found the video boring for me. However I not a fan of any type of workout that is "directed" (instructor type of workouts) I have changed my diet, cutting out red meat but still enjoy the cream in my coffee and watch the portions.I have noticed more tone in my legs and arms (the lean forwards & backwards moves) I do not stay with one motion for a long period of time and switch it up as soon as it starts to feel "going with the flow".positives : i work very long hours late into the evening and going outside to walk is not the safest or weather is not co-operating / the gym can be daunting and to get the stuff together and go there work out and back just killed the time (there & back) Now with this in that time... I have already worked out at home.the cost of this product was equal to a 3 month membershipits in the privacy of my own home and have even worked out in my pj's during a commerical break or during the evening when if I feel a snack attack coming on then grab the fresh fruit afterwards.no squeaks found like other people have reportedi dont use the monitor so useless for me / I have worked out a sweat with the machine and noticed right away ache in the calves the first few daysthere is various moves/ stretches you can do on the machine so makes it less boring than a treadmill which I can feel sometimes redundant, hard on the knees and next to no upper body workoutdown side, i find even with cross trainers on my foot still slides around so would recommend they add more of a rubber tread so less chance of sldingi dont move the unit and leave it set up for ease of use just put your socks & shoes on and use it no more excuses for the money it was worth it. I am turning 43 / 5 6, 200+lbs & dropping, have had issues with weight gain due to total hyst & early onset menopause, high stress job, long hours and busy family life...
