We love the picture on this TV. We're baseball nuts and watching the Jays on this TV is awesome. (Now, if they start winning that would be great too!) I found the setup quite easy, a guided step-by-step setup for the tv itself and the browser. And the keyboard was easy to set up as well: just plugged the dongle into a USB slot and it was good to go. Another thing I like is having Netflix at the touch of a button. We're quite pleased with this purchase.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased the 50" TV and it has an amazing picture. The clarity is just unreal. Now that the playoffs are happening, it is an absolute pleasure to watch them on my Toshiba 50" TV. You won't be sorry if you purchase this TV. I live in an apartment and the 50" is just perfect.
I've had it for a few days now and the picture quality is absolutely amazing. I do a lot of gaming, and all of my games look so much more vibrant on this tv. Movies were just mind-blowing. I have the sound routed through the built in optical output port to my surround system which was very handy. The one bad thing is the lack of legacy connections, old video only input. I have old gaming consoles that only have the old a/v plugs, but I'll find a work around for that.

Not very "Smart" implementation
The Shopping Channel product overview has indicated that this is "BRAND NEW" technology and that Toshiba is working on the interface. Unfortunately, this is too true. Various aspects of the TV are not yet up to speed. To start off, there is hardly any documentation included in the box. As soon as you switch on the TV, you are confronted with a complicated set up routine. Unless you are a knowledgeable computer user, you are well advised to have someone with good computer network knowledge to assist you. Having a user guide may help. However, you won't find it on Toshiba.ca. You have to go to their U.S. site and enter the model # without the last "C" (for Canada). The remote control has undocumented (and unused) buttons. The setup menu does not respond well to the remote. The wireless keyboard is confusing to use. In particular, it changes focus seemingly without user intervention. The web browser supports only HTML5. If you are used to viewing video contents (e.g. flash video) on the internet, you may find that some of your favourite videos cannot be displayed on the TV. That defeats one of the main purposes of getting a smart TV in the first place. Toshiba states in the user guide that this "is a TV browser"; so, keep that in mind.Certain functions do work reasonably well. You can connect your laptop to the TV using WiDi (Intel Wireless Display). You can also pair a tablet with the TV to manage Youtube video. On a different note, we have problem with warranty registration. It is supposed to be for three years. The warranty sheet in the box says "1". Toshiba.ca is not particularly useful. We get a bit of run-around when we tried to get clarification. We have written to firstname.lastname@example.org and are waiting for their response. All in all, it is a good TV; and we are happy with it. It is probably released too early for marketing purposes. Perhaps, if and when the firmware is updated, the "smart" features could be more satisfactory. In the meantime, we'll use it as a "dumb" TV. That's not too bad; the price is reasonable since we purchased it as a "show stopper".

The reason I only rated the tv at 4 stars was the lack of instructions on how to use the Internet features. Set up was straight forward so that wasn't a big deal. I will say that the picture quality is steller. I love the slim line and the full screen picture. I recommend buying this tv.
I was hesitant to buy a TV without having seen the picture quality, but TSC was offering such a great deal, I decided to take a chance. I am so glad that I did! This TV is so clear, the colours so vivid that I am blown away each time I watch it. As for the Smart TV aspect, I'm not sure how useful the Cloud function will be to me. It may become more interesting as new features are added. I've used the web browser a few times and it is OK. I doubt that it would be something that I would use all the time, though. Perhaps when I get more used to it. I like having Netflix available with a press of a button on the remote. I have yet to try the Cineplex store but will get around to it. I am totally satisfied with my purchase and love my new TV.
