Ganymede
Ganymede was a young, beautiful boy who was considered the most handsome amongst mortals. He was the son of Tros, the first king of the classical land Troy. Ganymede tended sheep on the slopes of Mount Ida and one day Jupitar caught a glimpse of the young boy and was immediately overwhelemd with a desire to bring Ganymede to Olympus to serve as the cup bearer of the gods. Jupitar thereby changed his shape into that of an eagle, swooped down and carried the boy off to the home of the gods.
Venus & Mars with Cupid
Mars was the god of war and loved violence and battle. According to Homer, even Jupiter, the father of Mars, recognized his son's bad attitude. The love of Mars was Venus, in whose arms he found peace. If ever the saying that opposites attract needed proof, the love affair between Venus and Mars was
it. Their offspring was the beautiful goddess Harmonia which is interesting to note that the mythological offspring of Rage and Love would be Harmony.
About Vicenza Gold by Tagliamonte
This unique collection from Vicenza (Venice) Italy is the result of five years of research which lead to the rediscovery of the ancient art of Venetian Cameo gems. Mr. Nino Tagliamonte, along with two Venetian artists, successfully experimented with original Roman blending, processing and casting methods to develop a formula allowing them to create Venetian Cameo gems identical to the antique originals. Available in a variety of colours and set with 14K and 18K gold, the gems are hand wrought with incandescent glass, and the exact colour is established only when cooled. These beautiful works of art rival the most breathtaking genuine gemstones!
