Aurora, in Greco mythology, is the personification of dawn. According to Greek poet Hesiod, she was the daughter of Titan Hyperion and the Titaness Theia and sister Helios, the sun god, and Salene, the moon goddess. She was the mother of the winds Zephyrus, Notus and Boreas and of Hesperus (the evening star) and the other stars. By Tithonus of Assyria, she was the mother of Memnon, King of the Ethiopians. In works of art she is represented as a young women, either walking fast with a baby in her arms or rising from the sea in a chariot drawn by 4 horses. Sometimes she is depicted as the goddess who dispenses the dews of the morning with a pitcher in each hand.

This unique collection from Vicenza (Venice) Italy is the result of five years of research which lead to the rediscovery of the ancient art of Venetian Cameo gems. Mr. Nino Tagliamonte, along with two Venetian artists, successfully experimented with original Roman blending, processing and casting methods to develop a formula allowing them to create Venetian Cameo gems identical to the antique originals. Available in a variety of colours and set with 14K and 18K gold, the gems are hand wrought with incandescent glass, and the exact colour is established only when cooled.
