designs inspired by ancient gold crafting techniques
About the brand

Tagliamonte has dedicated its activity to the production of Venetian Cameo jewellery since 1985 - a decision that was definitely a winning choice as these creations have become the firm's principal product.

In fact, Tagliamonte can be considered the only firm in the world that manufactures this kind of stone. Its exclusivity is not limited to the production itself, but includes the masterful use of a "classical" iconographic repertory. Tagliamonte Venice Cameos with their fascinating forms are a kind of seduction that belongs to another age.

Brand milestones

Tagliamonte is bringing back a manufacturing style as old as Mesopotamia. Vitreous pastes molded into cameos or intaglios are a part of jewellery history that, in recent years, has been largely ignored. The style can be traced back as far as the Mesopotomians, but was further developed by craftsmen from the ancient Roman colony of Aquileia. Mr. Nino Tagliamonte, along with two Venetian artists, dedicated five years of research to this project using authentic 18th century plaster matrix carvings. After numerous attempts, they rediscovered and successfully experimented with original Roman blending, processing and casting methods.

The company now has a collection of over three thousand matrices, partly original and partly modern castings, and can produce Venice cameo gems identical to the antique originals by following the Roman manual processing patterns and formulas.

The cameos are available in a variety of Colours, though each is hand wrought with incandescent glass and the exact colour is established only when cooled.

Unique design feature(s)

The collection includes rings, bracelets, bangles, necklaces, earrings, brooches and pins, pendants and cufflinks, produced in 18K sanded gold. The designs are inspired by the ancient gold crafting techniques where the matted background is enhanced by contrasting with gentle flashes of light.

The jewels are composed of Venetian glass symbolic elements with naturalistic inspiration, which Nino Tagliamonte has revived and reinterpreted in delicate pastel colors.

Warm tones and semi-translucencies, which characterize all of Nino's designs, produce a sensation of legendary images from our distant past
