About Wolfgang Puck

Austrian-born Wolfgang Puck began his formal training at age 14, inspired by his mother, Maria, a hotel chef. Encouraged by a friend, Wolfgang left Europe in 1973 at the age of 24, having already learned his craft as a classically trained French chef in the master kitchens of three-star French restaurants. After a stint at the restaurant La Tour in Indianapolis, Puck made the move to Los Angeles in 1975, and became both chef and part owner of Ma Maison, which quickly became a magnet for the rich and famous - with Puck as the starring attraction. Fame and acclaim quickly followed with his unique combination of dynamic personality and a culinary brilliance that bridged tradition and invention.

Wolfgang has changed the way North Americans cook and eat by mixing formal French techniques and Asian- and California-influenced esthetics with the highest quality ingredients. Over a span of twenty years, he has founded a virtual empire of dining establishments, including 12 fine dining restaurants, and the newer Wolfgang Puck Bistro, Express and Cafe locations across the United States, into Canada and Japan. He has authored six popular cookbooks, and his weekly syndicated newspaper column, “Wolfgang Puck’s Kitchen,” appears in more than 30 newspapers throughout the United States and Canada, with a combined circulation of more than 5.3 million.

Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, Inc. (WPW), a privately held corporation, includes a rapidly growing international franchise of the fast-casual Wolfgang Puck Express restaurants, consumer products, book publishing, television, radio and internet programming, and other licensing and merchandising projects.

WP Has Another Winner!

By Melanie

from Mississauga, ON

Silver Reviewer

Purchased the black, and it looks really nice. I have seen the shows for the "other well-known expensive blender" but seriously, who would pay that for a blender!? That is why I was so excited when this product aired as a Showstopper. I have made hot chocolate, banana hot chocolate, milkshakes, sorbets, ice cream, smoothies, pie filling, juices, etc. I love that the fibre stays in the drink unlike juicing machines where you lose the roughage. It stays on the kitchen counter along with my WP knife block, grill, and garnish set. :) My only gripe is that I wish the container had a pour spout.

Love this blender

By Terry

from Calgary

I use this blender everyday (sometimes twice a day) to make my green drink smoothie and love it! I make soup too and now make sure to fill below the 1000mL line and run for 6min. Liquid comes out the top but does not spill over. Love the flavour of the soup and use it as a base for soups throughout the week..yummy.

Nice Blender

By shfwilf

from Toronto

The blender is certainly powerful enough. I have only used it a few times but I found it easy to use and it pulverized everything. I purchased the red one and it gives a really nice pop of colour on the counter. I like that it is short enough to fit under the counter even with my undercounter lights. Much better value that the more expensive brand that TSC carries. I just wish that it came with a recipe book.

Great Blender

By MARISSA

from OTTAWA

Gold Reviewer

Of course, if you fill it to the top, you will have spillage through the cap. I have not had any problems with it.

I have made hot soups, icy smoothies, and wonderful ice cream in this blender - thank you Wolfgang Puck!

I have it sitting on my counter as I use it almost daily and now would not want to be without it.

It does everything the VITAMIX does and at a fraction of the cost, I highly recommend this blender.

love this machine

By Bella

from ontario

I love this machine!! Makes wonderful smoothies. I haven't tried soups yet but I haven't had any issues with the lid like some people have. I love the preset options and clean up is a breeze. I now try more variety of foods that I wouldn't eat before. I like the large jar especially if you use plenty of ice for that extra cold drink.

Almost Perfect

By EIPHNH

from Toronto

Good and powerful blender. I have to agree with all the other comments that it does leak if filled to capacity...also when I performed a dish soap smoothie to rinse it out as they did on tv, the suds overflowed. Someone mentioned that she got a better lid directly from the company. I think the company should send the better lid to everyone that ordered this so that they can have more satisfied customers.

I find it very easy to use, no problems with leaks, easy to get everything out of blender, good power and a good price.

Powerful Blender

By KAREN

from DOLLARD DES ORMEAUX

Bronze Reviewer

For the showstopper price, the power of this blender can't be beat (and I do own the other powerful one and love it too!). Excellent blending capabilty in seconds for smoothies and juices. Rips through ice, frozen fruits, and raw vegetables. I rarely cut anything into smaller pieces. The pre-set programs are really handy to have! Nice touch! I have had no problems with the lid coming off when blending cold or room temperature foods. Yes, a little liquid does go onto the lid due to the holes, but not enough to say it's a problem. I have not attempted hot soups in it yet, but can see how the steam may warp the lid and loosen it up. I will have to try to make some and update the review, but up till now, at the showstopper price and the efficiency it has displayed, it is a great buy.

I bought this blender to make soups.

By Brendab

from Edmonton, Alberta

This blender is poorly designed. I spent more time cleaning up the overspill from the lid I also siphoned off 2 cups with a baster to stop the mess. I was so excited to buy this blender for soups and other hot meals but the cleaning and being wary of trying any other recipies makes me untrusting of more mess and spills and wasted food. Also the book had only one recipie for soup. I was so excited but now very dismayed at mess, poor design and lack of recipies to fit blender carafe. No I would not recommend it to a freind.

On the fence...

By Sam

from Northern Ontario

Love how it makes smoothies and basically obliterates ice and frozen fruit!

Don't love the poor lid design where liquid comes out (ie. when washing as per instructions on TSC and making hot chocolate as per quantities mentioned on TSC as well!) May keep as my main reason for using this machine was for smoothies. But really it is overpriced for just one use. Still on the fence...

Also frustrated re: lack of recipes. Looked online but didn't find much. Really disappointed that they never got to showing the Nutella recipe on the show despite talking about it time and again.
