There are pros and cons to this product, the Pros include good price point, plenty of icing tips to choose from, great storage case. The Cons include, very difficult to wash and to take apart, the instructions are minimal. It would be nice if we know what the icing tips will look like after we pipe them. If you would like to invest in one of these, go for something a little more pricey and worth the money. It is a lot of work to use, so it only comes out once in a while.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

OK, but not as good as expected

I use it for garnishing, not for cookies. It would be easier to clean if both ends came off.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

More than just a Cookie Press
To be honest, I bought the cookie press for garnishing & stuffing. I don't bake cookies. This product works great for me. I mostly use the metal tips & found it very easy to make ravioli's & other stuffed food. It is easy to use, cleanup is a breeze in the dishwasher & the storage case keeps everything organized.

Ok, but not great
I did not have the problem other people who reviewed had, I could get the top off easily. When I tried to pipe out the cookie dough it was just a blob and no real shape to it. Also washing up is a pain, you have to be really careful to get all the cookie dough out and it seems to hide everywhere. I bought it for my grandaugher so we could make cookies and she had fun with it even though there was no shape to the cookies.
I wanted a new cookie press and was unable to open this one. My husband also couldn't and didn't want to use a wrench and break it so it went back.

We got the press hoping it would be easy and fun...not!We followed the recipe from the book and did the steps to set it up.My wife tried to get it to work right but was having problems with it. So I took over...she reloaded it and away I went...well I thought I was on my way.I found it hard to press out the cookie dough. It looked pretty easy on T.V???From when I saw the cookie dough coming out it took more then 6 plus times to finally started to produce some cookies....funny it only took 3 times on T.V???After awhile my wrist was getting sore and I started to get blisters on my fingers from the trigger. So to tell you I was not impressed!!! I hope the cake decoration attachments work better. That's about it. :(
You need strong hands
from Winnipeg (Manitoba)
You need strong hands to operate this. Unfortunately I don't have strong hands, plus I have arthritis in some of my joints, which makes operating this cookie press difficult.Unfortunately I didn't get around to using it within the 30 days, so now it's too late to return it.The press comes with several interchangable disks which is nice. So based on that, I would recommend this to people. However, be forwarned that if you don't have strong hands or have pain in your joints, this cookie press isn't for you.

Red Green Solution
from Northern Alberta
I will update my review. The cookie press would not come apart and the cylinder was so slippery we could not grip it to unscrew the top ring, it would just turn in one's hands. We did not want to damage the cylinder with a wrench, so what to do! We used a Red Green idea. We wrapped duct tape around the cylinder of the cookie press to get a firm grip then my husband was able to twist open the ring after which I was then able to put the ring on and then remove it again. Problem solved, I hope. I will now try it out and press some cookies! Hope it works better than some customers say.

I am very disappointed in Wolfgang. I ordered 2 Cookie Presses, one for myself and one for my daughter. The one for my daughter was going to Bermuda with a friend so was hopeful that it was ok... unfortunately it was not. Both of us could not get the top off. Even my boyfriend couldn't budge the top. Both were sent back and I received another one but it also did not work. I said one more time and finally received one that worked. I would have thought better of Wolfgang's products.
