Luminothérapie Yumalite

I used the YumaLite first thing in the morning for the required number of days without any results. Disappointing but not for me.

I have been curious about light therapy for a long time but knew I would never sit still in front of the panel for 20 minutes every morning. I love the Yuma. I put it on and then read the morning paper.
I had an odd reaction at first. For the first 5 or 6 uses, the light so relaxed me that I fell asleep after about 10 minutes.
After I woke up again, I had a nice calm energy for the day, not needing a nap.
By the way, I have had 8 heart attacks and will do anything to improve my health. Poor health can be very demoralizing. Add winter blues to that and you have a perfect storm for depression. This device has helped to lift my spirits. I feel better.
Don't forget that the brim is hinged and can be adjusted to shine into your eyes....not nearly as awful as that sounds. It is quite comfortable.

Did not work for me.

I needed no convincing about the light therapy, I have successfully used it, so when I saw this application of it, I wanted it right away. However, it needs some drastic redesigning, the headgear is very thigh and borders on causing a headache and I don't have a very big head. I have tried putting foam between the gear and my head, but that doesn't work if I loosen it, it falls off. It also presses so hard, it leaves an impression on my hair, so I can only use it in the AM before I wash and style my hair.. Further the visor part adjustment is so minimal, it really seems redundant. I am almost thinking of returning it.

I got my yumalite a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing it faithfully every morning. It is light and comfortable and I usually wear it for 30 minutes each day. I have sleep apnoea and combined with my C-PAP therapy I do feel more energetic and brighter in mood. I have already recommended it to a friend who suffers with fibromyalgia.

I have been putting off buying a light for years because I could not see myself making the time to sit in front of a light for 30 minutes. When I came across this light therapy in the form of a portable visor, I was sold. I purchased it and received it within a couple of days. I have had a remarkable decline in energy over the winter and got significant results within a couple of days. I don't need my afternoon sleep anymore and am actually getting things done around the house. Bye-bye winter blues .. never again!

I bought this Yamalite only because it is portable, as I have already owned a table energy light therapy which I like.
I have found Yamalite very uncomfortable for me to wear it (not more than 5 to 7 minutes). The lights, red or white,really bothered my eyes and I am afraid that I will trip one day, walking around with it on my head... Have not seen much difference after 1 week use! Returned it.

I've been battling SAD for most of my life, and although I do take supplements that help, there's no substitute for real sunshine. I've been so put off from buying an LED light for treatment both due to the pricing and that you have to sit idle for a period of time in front of it ('can't do it). I saw this on a recap of Dragon's Den last weekend and felt compelled to purchase one for the portability and the lower price point compared to a stationary model. After shopping around online I found this to be the best deal on TSC, both price wise and for customer satisifaction. It arrived nicely packaged this morning at my office and I quickly unwrapped it just to try it out. And it's simply crazy, I know - just 5 minutes with it on I could feel my mood instantly picking up. I am so looking forward to using this while I get ready for work in the morning!

I also found this item to be very fragile. Each time I went to use it I was so worried about it breaking. When I did use the Yuma Lite I found that with either the red or the white light setting I would feel a pressure over my eyes for about 5 minutes after each use. This bothered me so I returned the product.

I put this on every morning, for the 20 minutes recommended; from the first day of use, it correlated with an elevated mood (though I never felt I needed a mood booster!). It has been almost one month since I started using it, and I really notice a difference in stamina, mood, and the ability to calm myself when stressed.
